Hedges is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Rangers.

Hedges is 0-for-22 since Sept. 12 and will take a seat after he started the past three games. Luke Maile will start behind the plate and bat eighth Friday.

Heim is not in the lineup Friday against the Guardians.

The 27-year-old and Sam Huff have alternated starts behind the plate for Texas, but Kevin Plawecki, who signed with the Rangers on Thursday, will make his team debut Friday at catcher. Heim has struggled through 14 games in September with a .174/.224/.304 slash line.

Wong will sit Friday versus the Yankees, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports.

Wong will take a seat after he went 1-for-2 with a strikeout in Thursday's series opener. Reese McGuire will replace him behind the plate and bat eighth against New York.

Mejia isn't in the lineup for Friday's game against the Blue Jays, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Mejia will hand off catching duties to Christian Bethancourt, who will bat seventh as the two backstops continue to alternate starts.

Langeliers went 2-for-4 with an RBI double in a loss to the Mariners on Thursday.

The rookie's third-inning two-bagger plated Stephen Vogt to snap a 3-3 tie. Langeliers has been enjoying regular playing time behind the dish and at designated hitter but is still struggling to make consistent contact against big-league arms -- he's struck out at a massive 41.4 percent clip over 16 games during the month, and Thursday's multi-hit effort was his first since Sept. 1.

McGuire went 1-for-2 with a three-run home run in Thursday's loss against the Yankees.

McGuire blasted a go-ahead homer off righty reliever Clarke Schmidt with nobody out in the seventh inning. In his last five games, the catcher has recorded seven hits with two homers and a double over 14 at-bats. Since 2020, the 27-year-old has posted a poor .423 OPS over 102 plate appearances against left-handed pitching compared to a .683 OPS over 409 plate appearances facing righties.

Maldonado isn't starting Thursday against the Orioles.

Maldonado is getting a day off after he went 3-for-4 with a solo home run Wednesday against the Rays. Christian Vazquez will take over behind the plate and bat seventh.

Trevino isn't starting Thursday against Boston.

Trevino started the last two games and went 3-for-8 with a double, two RBI, a run and two strikeouts. Kyle Higashioka will take over behind the plate and bat ninth.

Pinto was optioned to Triple-A Durham on Thursday.

The Rays had been carrying Pinto as a third catcher, but they'll drop down to two backstops for the time being. Pinto is hitting .211/.241/.316 with two home runs in 24 games.

Ford appeared in 104 games for Single-A Modesto in 2022 and batted .274/.425/.438 with 11 home runs, 23 steals and an 88:115 BB:K.

The 2021 first-rounder impressed all year with his plate discipline and baserunning, though he did fall a bit short in the power department. Ford started the season cold, hitting just .196 over his first 38 games, but from June 12 through the end of the campaign, he put up a sparkling .320/.459/.530 line. Look for the 19-year-old backstop to open next season with High-A Everett.
