Vazquez is out of the lineup Sunday at Kansas City, Christopher Smith of The Springfield Republican reports.
Vazquez went 3-for-8 with a double and two strikeouts through the first two games of the series and will receive a breather in the finale. Kevin Plawecki will start behind the plate and bat ninth in his place.

Royals' Cam Gallagher: Out with shoulder injury
Gallagher was placed on the 10-day injured list Sunday with a right shoulder impingement. The move is retroactive to June 17.
Gallagher hasn't seen game action since Wednesday, so the transaction will be backdated by a few days. The 28-year-old is without a timetable for his return but will be eligible to be activated next Sunday. Sebastian Rivero was recalled from Triple-A Omaha in a corresponding move and will serve as the backup to Salvador Perez.

Yankees' Gary Sanchez: Stays hot with solo homer
Sanchez went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Saturday's 7-5 win over the Athletics.
Sanchez kicked off a New York comeback in the sixth inning with a 416-foot solo shot to left field. The homer was his 11th of the season and fifth in his past nine games. Over that span, the backstop is slashing .313/.353/.813 with eight runs and eight RBI.

Stassi is not in the starting lineup Saturday against the Tigers.
Stassi will get a breather after working behind the plate during the previous two games. Kurt Suzuki will start at catcher and bat eighth Saturday.

Trevino will retreat to the bench once again as he continues to alternate starts behind the dish. Jonah Heim will start at catcher and bat eighth.

Red Sox's Christian Vazquez: Three hits in loss
Vazquez (illness) went 3-for-4 with a double in Friday's 5-3 loss to Kansas City.
The catcher didn't ultimately miss a game after exiting Wednesday's contest versus Atlanta with a stomach illness. Vazquez has hit well in June, going 16-for-50 (.320) in his last 14 games. He's slashing .267/.310/.367 with three home runs, 12 doubles, 28 RBI, 27 runs scored and six stolen bases across 226 plate appearances.

Royals' Salvador Perez: Goes yard again
Perez went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Friday's 5-3 win over Boston.
The catcher gave Kansas City some insurance with his solo shot in the seventh inning. Perez has homered in consecutive games, and he's gone yard eight times through 16 games in June. The power surge has lifted his slash line to .291/.323/.543 with 18 long balls, 46 RBI, 34 runs scored and 13 doubles through 279 plate appearances. His career high in homers is 27, set in both 2017 and 2018, but he's on pace to smash that mark this year.

Mariners' Tom Murphy: Back on bench Friday
Murphy is not in the starting lineup Friday against the Rays.
Murphy got a breather Wednesday before returning to the lineup for Thursday's series opener. He'll rest his legs once again Friday, with Luis Torrens set to catch Yusei Kikuchi.
