Contreras went 1-for-4 with a solo home run, a walk and two total runs scored in Sunday's 9-3 win over the Nationals.

Contreras went 0-for-10 over his previous three games. He was able to snap the slump in his second at-bat Sunday with his solo shot, which put the Brewers ahead 2-1 in the third inning. The All-Star catcher has had few quiet stretches this year. He's now at a .286/.352/.440 slash line with 11 homers, 55 RBI, 65 runs scored, 23 doubles and five stolen bases over 93 games.

Nido went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 8-3 win over the Cardinals.

This was Nido's first homer as a Cub after signing with the team June 19. The catcher has hit safely in five of his last seven games, generating three RBI in that span. For the season, he's at a .202/.229/.331 slash line with four homers, 12 RBI, 14 runs scored and four doubles across 133 plate appearances between the Cubs and the Mets.

Murphy is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Padres.

Murphy caught eight innings and went 0-for-4 in Atlanta's 4-0 loss Saturday evening, so he'll be getting some routine maintenance as the two teams close out their series with a day game. Travis d'Arnaud steps in behind the plate as Murphy's replacement in the starting nine Sunday.

Contreras will get a breather after he played in both ends of Saturday's doubleheader, starting at designated hitter in the first game and at catcher in the second game while going a combined 3-for-6 with a home run, three walks, three runs and two RBI. Pedro Pages will step in behind the plate for the resting Contreras.

Amaya is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cardinals.

Amaya has moved back into a timeshare with Tomas Nido behind the plate, but it'll be the latter's turn to play Sunday after the former started at catcher in the second game of a doubleheader Saturday. In the Cubs' 5-4 loss in the second game of the twin bill, Amaya went 1-for-2 with a home run, two walks and two RBI.

Diaz is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mets.

Diaz will get a breather in the Rockies' final game before the All-Star break, affording Jacob Stallings a turn behind the dish. Upon returning from the injured list June 30, Diaz had started in 12 of the Rockies' ensuing 14 games, going just 11-for-50 (.220 average) with two extra-base hits (both doubles), two RBI and one run over that stretch.

Sanchez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Reds.

Sanchez will hit the bench for the second game in a row after he was behind the dish for Friday's 7-4 loss in the series opener, finishing with two hits and an RBI across four at-bats. He's slashing .250/.323/.250 in 32 plate appearances over 10 games since being called up from Triple-A Jacksonville on June 21 and has been operating as the No. 2 option at catcher behind Nick Fortes.

Amaya went 1-for-2 with two walks and a two-run home run in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Cardinals.

After sitting out the matinee, Amaya took Kyle Gibson deep in the second inning of the nightcap for his third homer of the year, helping the Cubs to an early 4-2 lead that slipped away late. The 25-year-old backstop has been alternating starts with Tomas Nido over the last week, and the arrangement seems to be agreeing with Amaya -- he's gone 5-for-12 with a double, a home run and three RBI in his last four games.

Herrera went 3-for-4 with a walk, one RBI and two runs scored in Saturday's 12-1 win over the Blue Jays.

This was Herrera's first multi-hit effort of the season. The backup catcher is now batting .368 with no home runs, four RBI, four runs scored and one double over 23 plate appearances. While he's done well in limited action, Herrera is unlikely to see more than a couple of starts per week behind primary catcher Gabriel Moreno.

Moreno is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Blue Jays.

Moreno missed Wednesday's game with lower-back tightness before going 1-for-3 Thursday and 0-for-4 in Friday's contest. He'll get a night off Saturday as Jose Herrera catches and bats ninth.
