Astros' Carlos Perez: Lands MiLB pact with Houston
The Astros signed Perez to a minor-league contract Nov. 28.
Perez spent all of the 2025 campaign at Triple-A Iowa in the Cubs organization, putting up a .944 OPS with 27 long balls. The 35-year-old last saw action at the big-league level in 2023 and will provide the Astros with experienced catching depth at Triple-A Sugar Land.

Angels' Gustavo Campero: Back with Halos on minors deal
The Angels re-signed Campero to a minor-league contract Wednesday.
The Halos non-tendered Campero earlier this month but have now brought him back on a minor-league pact. Campero posted a .618 OPS over 66 plate appearances in the majors in 2025 and offers the ability to handle all three outfield spots. He'll likely begin next season at Triple-A Salt Lake.

Yohel Pozo C | STL
Cardinals' Yohel Pozo: Re-signs with St. Louis
The Cardinals re-signed Pozo to a one-year contract Monday.
Pozo was non-tendered by St. Louis last week but is now back in the organization just a few days later on a split contract. The Cardinals already have Ivan Herrera, Jimmy Crooks and Pedro Pages competing for reps at catcher on the major-league roster, but Pozo will also factor into the mix. He slashed .231/.262/.375 with five home runs in 67 games for the Cardinals in 2025.

Knizner was non-tendered by the Giants on Friday.
Knizner was designated for assignment Friday and was set to be a free agent if he went unclaimed on waivers. This move was primarily procedural as a result.

Yohel Pozo C | STL
Yohel Pozo: Non-tendered by St. Louis
The Cardinals non-tendered Pozo on Friday.
Pozo signed a minor-league contract with the Cardinals in January and was a permanent member of the big club's roster in early April after being called up from Triple-A Memphis. He spent most of the 2025 season as the backup catcher behind Ivan Herrera (elbow) and Pedro Pages, and across 67 regular-season games, Pozo posted a .637 OPS with 16 runs scored, five home runs and 19 RBI in 168 plate appearances. Now that he's a free agent, Pozo should receive interest from teams looking to add depth at catcher.

Jonah Heim: Let go by Rangers
Heim was non-tendered by the Rangers on Friday.
Heim's tenure with the Rangers has seemingly come to an end after spending the last five seasons with the organization. He spent most of the 2025 regular season as the starting catcher, though he did split time behind home plate with Kyle Higashioka at times. Heim ended the season with a .213/.271/.332 slash line with three steals, 38 runs scored, 11 home runs and 43 RBI over 433 plate appearances. The 30-year-old pro will look to catch on with a team in need of depth at catcher by the start of spring training.

Sebastian Rivero: Cut loose by Halos
Rivero was non-tendered by the Angels on Friday.
Rivero signed a minor-league deal with the Angels last December after spending the 2024 season as a member of Atlanta's organization. He spent most of the 2025 campaign with Triple-A Salt Lake, but he ended the season on the big club's roster after his contract was selected by the Angels in early September, going 6-for-33 with one steal, four runs and two RBI in the majors. Rivero will look to join a team in need of depth at catcher prior to the start of spring training.

Reese McGuire: Non-tendered by Cubs
The Cubs non-tendered McGuire on Friday, Jesse Rogers of ESPN.com reports.
McGuire joined the Cubs in January on a minor-league contract, but he spent most of the season with the big club to provide depth behind the plate for Carson Kelly and Miguel Amaya. McGuire appeared in 45 regular-season games in 2025 and posted a .689 OPS with 17 runs scored, nine home runs and 24 RBI over 140 plate appearances. The 30-year-old backstop will enter free agency and look to join a team ahead of spring training.

Phillies' Rafael Marchan: Gets deal for 2026
Marchan signed a one-year, $860,000 contract with the Phillies on Friday.
Marchan posted just a .587 OPS across 118 plate appearances with the Phillies in 2025, but the team will opt to keep him around for another year. He will likely have to compete for a place on the big-league roster during spring training.

Nationals' Riley Adams: Re-signs with Nationals
Adams signed a one-year contract with the Nationals on Friday.
Adams appeared in a career-high 83 games with the Nationals in 2025 but still wasn't very effective at the plate, slashing just .186/.252/.308 across 286 plate appearances. He'll officially remain in the organization to begin 2026 but will likely face competition for a spot on the big-league roster during spring training.
