Murphy is hitting eighth and serving as the designated hitter for Tuesday's tilt against the Angels.

Murphy has gone hitless in his first six plate appearances of 2023, but he does have a history of success versus left-handed pitchers and gets the starting nod against southpaw Jose Suarez.

Kirk isn't in the lineup for Toronto's game against the Royals.

Contreras isn't in the Brewers' lineup ahead of Tuesday's game against the Mets.

Contreras is currently 3-for-13 at the plate this season with three RBI in three games, and he will rest for the second time in three days. While he sits, Victor Caratini will take his spot behind the dish and bat seventh.

Narvaez is not in the Mets' starting lineup Tuesday.

Tomas Nido will get a turn at catcher and bat ninth against the Brewers and left-hander Wade Miley. This looks to be a routine day of rest for Narvaez.

Realmuto is out of the lineup Tuesday against the Yankees.

Realmuto, who is batting .333/.375/.533 through his first 16 plate appearances this season, looks to be getting some routine maintenance. Garrett Stubbs will start at catcher and hit ninth Tuesday in the Bronx. Realmuto is likely to return to the starting lineup Wednesday.

The Pirates selected Heineman's contract from Triple-A Indianapolis on Tuesday.

Austin Hedges was placed on the 7-day concussion injured list, so Heineman gets the call-up to share time behind the plate with Jason Delay. Neither catcher is expected to warrant much attention outside of NL-only leagues.
