Francisco Alvarez C | NYM
Mets' Francisco Alvarez: Getting afternoon off
Alvarez is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Angels.
After getting called up from Triple-A Syracuse on Monday, Alvarez started behind the plate in the first two contests of the series and went 2-for-6 with a home run, a double, two walks, two RBI and two additional runs. Luis Torrens will get the nod behind the plate for Wednesday's day game, but so long as he's swinging a hot bat, Alvarez could be in store for the bulk of the starts at catcher.

Logan O'Hoppe C | LAA
Angels' Logan O'Hoppe: Exiting starting nine
O'Hoppe is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's contest versus the Mets.
O'Hoppe will sit out Wednesday's matinee after starting at catcher in each of the previous three games. Travis d'Arnaud will be behind the dish and bat seventh in O'Hoppe's stead.

Martin Maldonado C | SD
Padres' Martin Maldonado: Getting breather Wednesday
Maldonado is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Marlins.
Maldonado will get some rest for Wednesday's day game after he started behind the plate in the first two games of the series while going 2-for-6 with a pair of doubles, an RBI and a run. Elias Diaz will handle catching duties in the series finale.

Tyler Stephenson C | CIN
Reds' Tyler Stephenson: Sitting out Wednesday
Stephenson is not in the lineup for Wednesday's contest versus the Nationals.
Stephenson was the Reds' catcher for Tuesday night's 6-1 loss, so it's not a surprise he's getting a breather in Wednesday's matinee. Jose Trevino will be behind the dish and bat seventh as Cincinnati tries to avoid the sweep.

Twins' Christian Vazquez: Drives in three Tuesday
Vazquez went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI in Tuesday's 10-7 win over the Dodgers.
Vazquez produced a two-run double in the second inning and added an RBI single in the sixth. The catcher continues to see a near-even split of playing time behind the dish with Ryan Jeffers. Vazquez is 8-for-29 (.276) in July, lifting his slash line for the year to .190/.254/.272 with two home runs, 12 RBI, 10 runs scored and no stolen bases over 173 plate appearances.

Cal Raleigh C | SEA
Mariners' Cal Raleigh: Supplies lone run in win
Raleigh went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 1-0 win over the Brewers.
Raleigh went just 3-for-17 over his first four games following the All-Star break, though he had just two strikeouts in that span. Offense was at a premium Tuesday, and his sixth-inning solo shot off Nick Mears was the lone run of the game. Raleigh is up to 39 homers on the year while adding 84 RBI, 68 runs scored, 11 stolen bases, 16 doubles and a .256/.370/.619 slash line across 99 contests. It wouldn't be surprising to see his batting average regress a bit in the second half, but he should still be capable of producing big numbers in his counting stats.

Kyle Higashioka C | TEX
Rangers' Kyle Higashioka: Battling hamstring tightness
Higashioka was removed from Tuesday's game against the Athletics with hamstring tightness, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.
Higashioka went 2-for-3 with a run scored before his hamstring forced him out of the game in the eighth inning. He's slated to be evaluated Wednesday, at which point more will be known about the severity of his injury. Until then, he can be considered day-to-day.
