Hedges is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Tigers, Andre Knott of Bally Sports Ohio reports.

Hedges is 2-for-22 over his last eight appearances and will step out of the lineup for Sunday's series finale in Detroit. Luke Maile will take over behind the plate and bat eighth.

Barnhart is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Guardians.

With Detroit wrapping up its series with Cleveland with a day game, Barnhart will get a breather. Eric Haase will work behind the plate after Barnhart had caught both of Detroit's last two contests.

Herrera went 0-for-2 in Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Dodgers.

Herrera made a second straight start at catcher, as Daulton Varsho (shoulder) was unavailable after getting hit by a pitch during Friday's contest. Varsho was in the original lineup Saturday but was then scratched. That suggests he's close to returning and Herrera's days as the primary catcher may end soon.

Mejia went 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored Saturday against the Yankees.

Mejia was behind the dish to make his fourth start in the team's last nine games. He delivered a double in the seventh inning and ultimately came around to score. The effort marked Mejia's first multi-hit game since May 6, the day he was activated from the COVID-19 injured list. Since, he has hit just .171 with three RBI and three runs scored across 13 games. Overall, Mejia has a .263/.259/.421 line across 58 plate appearances on the season.

Vazquez went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI in a 4-2 loss to the Orioles in Game 2 of Saturday's doubleheader.

Vazquez was one of two Red Sox batters to record multiple hits in this contest. The catcher also knocked in their first run, plating Trevor Story with an RBI single in the fourth inning. Vazquez has a trio of three-hit efforts in his last five games. He's lifted his slash line to .292/.339/.389 with two home runs, 19 RBI, 10 runs scored and five doubles through 124 plate appearances this year.

Casali went 1-for-4 in Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Reds.

Casali missed the minimum seven days on the concussion injured list. He went 7-for-16 (.438) in the six games before he was hurt, and he had started to claw away some playing time from the struggling Joey Bart. Casali has a .263/.338/.456 slash line with three home runs, 10 RBI, seven runs scored and a pair of doubles through 20 contests. He'll likely continue to see a timeshare behind the dish going forward.

Stassi will sit Saturday against Toronto, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports.

Stassi started three of the first four games after returning from the COVID-19 injured list at the start of this week. Kurt Suzuki will take over behind the plate Saturday.

Maldonado will sit Saturday against Seattle.

Maldonado has continued to feature heavily behind the plate despite the fact that he's hitting just .117/.200/.223 on the year. He'll hit the bench for the second time in three games Saturday, something which hadn't happened since late April, with Jason Castro starting behind the plate.

Caratini went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk in Saturday's 8-3 loss to the Cardinals.

Caratini singled in the seventh before launching a two-run shot off T.J. McFarland in the top of the ninth. The homer was his second of the year while the two hits were his first since May 13, going 0-for-16 in his prior six games. Caratini remains the backup to Omar Narvaez at catcher, receiving only one or two starts a week.

Sanchez was removed from Saturday's game against the Royals due to a heat-related illness, Phil Miller of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

Sanchez started behind the dish Saturday and went 0-for-2 with a strikeout prior to being replaced by a pinch hitter in the bottom of the sixth inning. The 29-year-old should be considered day-to-day ahead of Sunday's series finale against the Royals.
