Fermin isn't in the lineup for Friday's game against the Mets.

Fermin is still searching for his first hit since May 14, so the Padres will sit him down Friday in favor of Rodolfo Duran while they try to find offensive production from the catcher spot.

Jansen is not in the Rangers' starting lineup against the Guardians on Friday.

Jansen will be on the bench for the start of Friday's contest while Kyle Higashioka starts behind home plate and bats eighth while catching pitches from Kumar Rocker. Jansen has gone 7-for-56 (.125) with one steal, two home runs and five RBI since May 1.

Haase went 1-for-4 with a grand slam and a walk in Thursday's 12-9 win over the Brewers.

The veteran catcher drew a walk in the first inning and cracked a grand slam off Jake Woodford in the seventh to give the Giants a 10-3 lead. Haase has recorded at least one hit in four of his last five appearances, batting .357 with five RBI and two home runs across 16 plate appearances over that stretch. Overall, he's slashing .282/.333/.667 with nine RBI, seven runs scored and four long balls in 42 plate appearances on the campaign.

Diaz elected to become a free agent Wednesday.

Diaz had been outrighted to Triple-A Omaha by the Royals, but he's decided to hit the free-agent market instead. The veteran catcher will likely have to settle for a minor-league contract.

The Giants outrighted Porter to Triple-A Sacramento on Thursday.

Porter passed through waivers after being designated for assignment. He has the ability to decline an outright assignment and elect free agency, but at this point it appears Porter will stick around as organizational catching depth.

Trevino (hamstring) began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Louisville on Thursday, going 0-for-3 with a strikeout.

Trevino also caught six innings behind the plate in his first bit of game action since he strained his left hamstring nearly three weeks ago. The veteran backstop shouldn't require too many more rehab at-bats before rejoining the Reds' active roster.

Moreno batted third in the order and went 0-for-3 with a walk and a run scored in Thursday's 3-2 win over the Dodgers.

Arizona manager Torey Lovullo adjusted the lineup Thursday, swapping the spots of Moreno and shortstop Geraldo Perdomo, who was dropped to seventh. It was just the third time this season the catcher has hit third, but he's been one of the team's hottest hitters of late, slashing .311/.394/.459 over the last 17 contests. Per Alex Weiner of Arizona Sports, Perdomo will mainly stick in the seventh spot for now, but it's not yet clear if Moreno will be the primary No. 3 hitter while the shortstop works through his struggles at the dish.

Langeliers went 2-for-4 with a pair of home runs and three total RBI in a loss to the Cubs on Thursday.

Langeliers socked a solo home run in the fourth inning before tallying an inside-the-park homer two innings later on a misplay in center field. It was still officially the third multi-homer game of the campaign for Langeliers, who leads MLB backstops with 16 long balls and ranks fifth with 33 RBI. Langeliers had batted just .145 with no multi-hit performance over his previous 16 games coming into Thursday, though five of his nine hits during that span had gone for extra bases. Despite that recent downturn, Langeliers seems to have a strong chance of earning his first All-Star bid, as he's posting a .915 OPS through 56 contests.

Kelly isn't in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Athletics.

Kelly has gone 0-for-11 across his last three contests, and Thursday will mark the fourth time in seven games that he's been kept on the sidelines. Moises Ballesteros will handle catching duties with Kelly on the bench, allowing Pedro Ramirez to work as Chicago's designated hitter.

The Astros selected Price's contract from Triple-A Sugar Land on Thursday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Price will receive his first promotion to the majors after slashing .235/.360/.476 with 10 homers, 26 RBI and 19 runs in 47 games at Sugar Land. Cesar Salazar was designated for assignment in a corresponding move, so the door is open for Price to work as Houston's backup catcher until Yainer Diaz (oblique) returns from the injured list.
