X-rays on Perez's left hand returned negative after he exited Saturday's game against the Mariners after being hit by a pitch, Lynn Worthy of The Kansas City Star reports.

Perez went 1-for-2 with a walk and two runs scored before departing. The 31-year-old will most likely receive a day off in Sunday's series finale, and an X-ray isn't always dispositive, but the initial report at least provides reason for optimism regarding Perez's outlook.

Perez left Saturday's game against the Mariners after being hit by a pitch in the hand, Joel Goldberg of Bally Sports Kansas City reports.

Perez was hit by an offering from Yohan Ramirez in the top of the seventh inning. He remained in the game to take his base, and he ultimately came around to score on a Carlos Santana home run. However, Perez was replaced by Cam Gallagher behind the plate in the bottom of the frame. The severity of the injury is unclear, but it wouldn't be a surprise to see him out of the lineup Sunday.

Knizner went 2-for-3 with a double, an RBI, a run scored and a walk in Saturday's 5-0 win over the Reds.

Knizner has recorded multiple hits in two of his six games this season. The 27-year-old catcher opened the scoring with an RBI single in the second inning. He also scored on a Paul Goldschmidt double in the sixth inning after getting aboard with a double of his own. Knizner has started consecutive games as Yadier Molina continues to deal with some general soreness. Knizner owns a .318/.375/.545 slash line with six RBI, two runs scored, a home run and a pair of doubles through 24 plate appearances this season.

Contreras went 3-for-5 with a walk, a double, three runs scored and three RBI in Saturday's win over the Pirates.

Contreras was one of the engines in Chicago's easy 21-0 win Saturday. The catcher came into the contest with only three RBI this season, though he managed to double that number. He also pushed his OPS to .848, which would be the highest for Contreras since he recorded an .888 OPS back in 2019.

Barnhart is not in the lineup for the second half of Saturday's doubleheader against the Rockies, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.

Barnhart went 2-for-5 in the afternoon game. He'll sit against southpaw Austin Gomber in the nightcap, as he did against the three previous lefties the Tigers faced this season.

McCann will sit Saturday against Arizona.

McCann remains the primary catcher in Queens, but not by a wide margin. He's started nine games behind the plate this season, while Tomas Nido, who starts Saturday, has been in the lineup seven times.

Stallings will sit Saturday against Atlanta, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Stallings has handled a heavy workload behind the plate this season. Saturday's day off is just his third in the Marlins' first 14 games. Payton Henry will take over behind the plate.

Sanchez's MRI on his sore abdomen showed "minimal signal," according to manager Rocco Baldelli, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Sanchez was scratched from Friday's lineup with the injury and won't start Saturday, either, but it looks as though he may avoid a trip to the injured list. Jose Godoy's contract was selected to give the Twins a backup to Ryan Jeffers behind the plate, but Minnesota seemingly would have placed Sanchez on the injured list as the corresponding move if the team thought he'd be out for an extended period.

Godoy's contract was selected by the Twins on Saturday, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

Godoy was designated for assignment shortly before Opening Day, but he's needed again just over two weeks into the season with Gary Sanchez battling abdominal tightness. Godoy will back up Ryan Jeffers for now, but Sanchez hasn't been placed on the injured list, so Godoy's stay on the active roster could be brief. Jhon Romero (biceps) hit the injured list in a corresponding move.

Bart is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Nationals.

Bart played all nine innings in Friday's game despite dealing with a blister on his left hand, so it would seem he is being held out Saturday with the Giants playing an afternoon affair following a night game. Curt Casali will start behind the plate in Bart's place.
