Jansen went 1-for-1 with a walk and a solo home run in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to the Orioles.

In his first at-bat since being activated from the IL, Jansen got the Jays on the board by taking Keegan Akin deep in the third inning. The homer was his sixth of the season in 50 games, but the 26-year-old's .183/.270/.365 slash line doesn't make a strong case for consistent playing time behind the plate in September.

Grandal went 1-for-2 with a solo home run and two walks in Tuesday's win versus the Pirates.

The catcher has been red hot since he returned from the injured list Friday, crushing four home runs and driving in 11 runs over four games. He has now launched 18 long balls this season, but Grandal has struggled to a .210 batting average, which would represent a career low for the 32-year-old.

Marchan went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run and a walk during Tuesday's win over the Nationals.

Marchan evened up the score with a 397-foot knock against Patrick Corbin in the sixth inning. The long ball was the first of the season for the 22-year-old, who has gone 4-for-16 since getting recalled from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Friday. He's expected to serve as the backup catcher with Andrew Knapp sidelined (COVID-19).

Contreras (knee) reported to Triple-A Iowa to begin a rehab assignment Tuesday.

Contreras progressed to catching bullpen sessions and taking part in baserunning drills over the weekend, which were apparently some of the final hurdles before starting a rehab stint. The 29-year-old has been sidelined nearly three weeks by the knee sprain, and he should be able to rejoin the big-league club after a few appearances in the minors.

Jackson is on the bench for Tuesday night's game against the Mets, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Jackson gets the night off after catching the continuation of a suspended April game Tuesday afternoon. Sandy Leon is catching and batting sixth Tuesday night.

Jansen (hamstring) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list Tuesday. He is set to start Tuesday's game against Baltimore behind the plate and bat ninth.

Jansen landed on the injured list July 23 with a right hamstring strain. He began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Buffalo on Aug. 24 and wound up going 4-for-15 with a homer, four RBI and three runs scored across five games. He's set to start Tuesday against left-hander Keegan Akin, but Jansen may have a hard time carving out a large role with catchers Alejandro Kirk and Reese McGuire also on the active roster.

Heim was reinstated from the COVID-19 list prior to Tuesday's game against the Rockies.

Heim's stay on the COVID IL ends after exactly a week. The backstop had established himself as Texas' primary catcher prior to being sidelined, and he figures to continue getting the majority of the starts behind the plate during the season's final month. He's set to catch for Jordan Lyles and bat seventh Tuesday.

Realmuto (ankle/shoulder) remains absent from the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Nationals.

Realmuto has been banged up lately, missing Saturday's game with a shoulder issue and leaving Sunday's with ankle soreness. He missed Monday's game while nursing both injuries, and while the Phillies hoped he'd be back in the lineup Tuesday, he'll wind up missing at least one more game. Rafael Marchan will start behind the plate in Realmuto's absence while Matt Vierling starts at first base, the spot Realmuto is expected to occupy frequently down the stretch.

Jeffers is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Cubs.

Jeffers is likely just receiving some routine maintenance after he caught each of the Twins' last six games. No. 2 backstop Ben Rortvedt will get a turn behind the dish while Jeffers rests.

Cleveland sent Perez (shoulder) to Double-A Akron on Tuesday to begin a rehab assignment.

Perez has been on the injured list since Aug. 6 with an inflamed right shoulder, so he'll likely need at least a couple games in the minors to get his conditioning in order and his timing back at the plate. Once reinstated from the IL, Perez will likely work in a timeshare at catcher with Austin Hedges.
