McGuire will be on the bench Tuesday against the Red Sox.

McGuire may be moving slightly ahead of Danny Jansen on the Blue Jays' catcher depth chart, as he's started three of the first four games of the second half. Jansen gets the nod behind the plate Tuesday, catching Thomas Hatch.

Vazquez (knee) is batting ninth and catching Tuesday against the Blue Jays, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.

One day off was apparently enough for Vazquez to recover from a banged-up knee. He's been unremarkable offensively since the start of July, hitting .225 with no home runs and just two RBI in 11 games.

Jeffers is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the White Sox.

After Mitch Garver (groin) returned from the 10-day injured list with a two-homer game in the second half of Monday's doubleheader, Jeffers' time as Minnesota's No. 1 catcher appears to be over. Even while he benefited from a full-time role for much of the past two months, Jeffers was only providing low-end fantasy value. Jeffers has slashed .207/.305/.446 with six home runs, 15 RBI and nine runs in 28 games since the beginning of June.

Narvaez will sit Tuesday against the Royals.

Narvaez has started just twice against a lefty all season, so it's no surprise to see him on the bench against Mike Minor here. Manny Pina starts behind the plate in his absence.

McCann went 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBI in Monday's 15-11 extra-innings win over the Reds.

The veteran catcher didn't enter the contest until the eighth inning, when he pinch hit for Tomas Nido, but McCann still supplied a full game's worth of production. The homer was his first in July and eighth of the year, but he's still putting together a decent month, slashing .278/.381/.361 over his last 13 games with four RBI and four runs.

Tigers manager A.J. Hinch said after Monday's 14-0 win over the Rangers that Rogers will likely be out for 2-to-3 weeks after he was diagnosed with a pronator teres strain of his right forearm, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports. "We hope it's going to be resolved in the next couple of weeks," Hinch said of Rogers' injury. "He's going to have a rest period here. ... Once we knew Jake was going to be down for a minimum 5-to-7 days, we made the decision to put him on the injured list. During the game, we got the update that it's probably going to be a few weeks, but hopefully not major."

Rogers was in Detroit's initial lineup as the starting catcher for the series opener, but he was scratched shortly before the contest when his arm was "bugging him" during pregame warmups, according to Hinch. He was sent in for medical tests shortly thereafter, which revealed the forearm strain. Detroit called up Grayson Greiner to take Rogers' spot on the active roster, and the combination of Greiner and Eric Haase will split time behind the dish while Rogers is on the mend.

Barrera went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and another run scored during Monday's win over the Marlins.

Barrera collected his first career long ball with a 410-footer against Ross Detwiler in the second inning. The 26-year-old backstop has seen an uptick in playing time with Yan Gomes (oblique) and Alex Avila (calf) on the shelf. Across eight games so far, he's hitting .304/.360/.522.

Garver went 2-for-3 with two solo homers in a loss against the White Sox in Game 2 of Monday's doubleheader.

It was Garver's first appearance since June 1 after going on the injured list with a groin injury. He immediately made an impact, crushing a pair of solo shots in the second and fifth innings. The 30-year-old catcher now has 10 homers, 19 RBI and an .896 OPS through 138 plate appearances this season.

Rortvedt was optioned to Triple-A St. Paul on Monday, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.

With Mitch Garver returning from injury, the Twins have no need for three catchers on the active roster, resulting in Rortvedt's demotion. He went 4-for-42 with two extra-base hits, two RBI and three runs scored during his last month and a half with the Twins (16 games).

Garver (groin) was activated from the 10-day injured list for Game 2 of Monday's doubleheader against the White Sox, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

The Twins have yet to reveal their starting nine for the nightcap, but Garver should be back behind the dish after missing time with a groin injury. Ben Rortvedt was optioned to Triple-A St. Paul in a corresponding move.
