Perez went 4-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 6-2 loss to the Red Sox.

He gave the Royals a 1-0 lead in the second inning by taking Martin Perez deep, but despite Sal's best efforts, Boston dominated the rest of the game. The 31-year-old catcher put an impressive June in the books, slashing .292/.318/.585 with nine of his 19 homers on the season.

Grandal went 2-for-5 with two home runs and five RBI in Wednesday's 13-3 win over the Twins.

Grandal has hit safely in six of the last seven games, including four home runs, and produced 12 RBI during that stretch. He's up to 14 homers in 60 games. Grandal's batting average is a sickly .186, but his .262 ISO is much more healthy.

Perez (finger) exited his rehab game at Double-A Akron on Tuesday after suffering a right hand contusion, Tom Withers of the Associated Press reports.

Perez was reportedly hit by a ball, though it's not clear if the injury occurred when he was hitting or behind the plate. Per Ryan Lewis of the Akron Beacon Journal, manager Terry Francona said that the injury is nothing to be concerned about. Perez may need to take a day or two off before getting back behind the dish, but he should continue to stay on track for a mid-July activation from the 60-day IL.

Rogers is not starting Game 2 of Wednesday's doubleheader against Cleveland.

Rogers will hand the catching duties off to Eric Haase after delivering an RBI single during Game 1 of the twin bill.

Hedges is not in the starting lineup for Game 2 of Wednesday's doubleheader against Detroit.

Hedges will yield the catching duties to Rene Rivera after going 0-for-3 with two strikeouts during Game 1.

Moreno was placed on the injured list at Double-A New Hampshire on Wednesday due to to a minor thumb fracture, Sam Dykstra of MLBPipeline reports.

Per Keegan Matheson of MLB.com, Moreno suffered the injury when he was hit on the thumb by a pitch, and he's expected to miss multiple weeks. Moreno seemed to be nearing a promotion to Triple-A Buffalo with an outside chance of making it to the big leagues in September, but the injury will certainly make reaching both of those milestones a far more difficult task. The catcher has slashed an outstanding .373/.441/.651 with eight homers and 46 RBI across 145 plate appearances with New Hampshire this season.

Stassi is not in the starting lineup Wednesday against the Yankees, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Stassi will get a breather after catching the first two games of the series in the Bronx. Kurt Suzuki will catch Shohei Ohtani and bat seventh Wednesday.

Trevino (forearm) is not in the starting lineup Wednesday against the Athletics.

Trevino was forced to sit during Tuesday's win after he suffered a forearm contusion while slipping in the bathroom. He'll remain out of the starting lineup Wednesday as Jonah Heim works behind the plate once again. Trevino can remain considered day-to-day for the time being.

McGuire is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Mariners.

McGuire started the past five games and will receive a day off after going 7-for-18 with two walks and five runs. Riley Adams will take over behind the plate for the Blue Jays.

Jackson (hamstring/finger) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Gwinnett on Wednesday, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

Jackson was on a rehab assignment earlier in the month while recovering from a left hamstring strain, but he suffered an injury to his pinkie finger that forced him to pause his activities. The catcher was transferred to the 60-day IL and isn't eligible to return until this weekend, but he'll resume his rehab assignment Wednesday and could be back with the major-league club in the near future.
