Murphy isn't starting Saturday's game against the White Sox.

Murphy went 1-for-4 with a double, a hit by pitch, two runs and two strikeouts Friday, but he continues to alternate starts behind the plate. Luis Torrens will start at catcher and bat seventh.

Haase is starting in left field and batting sixth in Game 1 of Saturday's doubleheader against the Astros.

Haase has been losing playing time to Jake Rogers behind the plate, but the former is able to play the outfield as well, which gets him into the lineup Saturday. Rogers will start at catcher and bat eighth in the first game Saturday, and Haase could spell him behind the plate for the second contest.

Rogers is starting at catcher and batting eighth in Game 1 of Saturday's doubleheader against the Astros.

Rogers got a day off Thursday but will re-enter the lineup for Saturday's matinee after Friday's contest was rained out. The 26-year-old seems to have overtaken Eric Haase as the primary catcher in Detroit, as Rogers had started four straight games before his day off Thursday. Haase will occupy left field in the first game Saturday and could spell Rogers behind the plate later in the day.

Contreras took a fastball off his left hand in Friday's game against the Dodgers but was able to finish out the contest and seems to have avoided a serious injury, Gordon Wittenmyer of NBC Sports Chicago reports.

Contreras was struck by a 98-mph pitch from Los Angeles reliever Joe Kelly in the sixth inning but was not lifted for a pinch runner. The Chicago catcher had one more at-bat, striking out in the eighth inning. Manager David Ross said it was a "good sign" that Contreras "got through the game and was still able to compete at a high level," but the team will know more after checking him out on Saturday. It's possible that Contreras gets a day off to let his bruise heal, but at this point it does not appear he is facing an extended absence.

Stallings isn't starting Saturday's game against the Cardinals.

Stallings returned to the lineup Friday after he missed two games due to workload management, but he'll head back to the bench Saturday. Michael Perez will start behind the plate and bat sixth.

Maldonado isn't starting Game 1 of Saturday's doubleheader against the Tigers, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Maldonado started each of the last three games behind the dish and will get a breather for Saturday's matinee. Jason Castro will start at catcher and bat ninth.

Stallings went 1-for-4 with two RBI in Friday's 5-4 win over the Cardinals.

He returned to the lineup after a two-game absence during which manager Derek Shelton said the team was managing his workload. Stallings is hitting just .226 but leads all National League catchers with 31 RBI and ranks second with 13 doubles. The backstop hit fourth or fifth in the batting order in each of his last 27 starts.

Casali went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Friday's 2-0 win over Oakland.

There was little offense in the battle between Bay Area teams, so Casali's seventh-inning solo homer loomed large. The long ball was just his second this season and Casali struggled to a .100 average through his first 70 at-bats, but he has stepped things up considerably of late, batting .500 (8-for-16) with both his homers and six RBI over his past six contests.

Grandal went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Friday's 9-3 loss to Seattle.

Grandal got the White Sox on the board in the second inning with his 12th long ball of the season. The 32-year-old served as the designated hitter Friday -- he's seen a slight majority of the playing time behind the dish, but the White Sox have preferred to keep his bat in the lineup when Zack Collins is the catcher. Grandal is slashing .175/.385/.419 with 30 RBI and 35 runs scored through 219 plate appearances.

Heim went 3-for-4 with a double, two RBI and a run scored in Friday's 9-4 win over Kansas City.

Heim plated Nate Lowe twice in the contest, on a fourth-inning single and a sixth-inning double. In his last seven games, Heim has gone 10-for-22 (.455) with three doubles, a home run, five RBI and four runs scored. He's likely to continue splitting time with Jose Trevino, although Heim has most often filled the backup role behind the dish.
