Heim will start at catcher and bat ninth Wednesday's game against the Athletics.

Though Heim in the lineup Wednesday, the playing time at catcher has swung in the favor of Jose Trevino of late. Trevino caught each of the past three games and seems to have temporarily solidified himself as Option 1A behind the plate for Texas.

Nido (wrist) underwent an MRI on Wednesday that came back clean, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Nido suffered a wrist injury in the first game of Monday's doubleheader against Atlanta, but he's still dealing with some limitations despite Wednesday's encouraging update. The exact nature of his injury isn't yet clear, and whether he requires time on the injured list remains to be seen.

McGuire is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Marlins.

The lefty-hitting McGuire will retreat to the bench with southpaw Trevor Rogers on the hill for Miami. Riley Adams, a right-handed hitter, will serve as Toronto's catcher while batting eighth.

Stubbs was optioned to Triple-A Sugar Land on Wednesday, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Stubbs spent nearly a week on the major-league roster, but he didn't make any starts and went 1-for-2 with a double and an RBI in two appearances as a pinch hitter. He'll now head back to the minors as part of a transaction to make room for Kyle Tucker (illness), who was reinstated from the COVID-19 injured list Wednesday.

Stassi is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Giants, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Stassi is likely receiving a breather with the Giants and Angels wrap up their two-game set with a day game after a night game. Kurt Suzuki will catch for starting pitcher Shohei Ohtani on Wednesday.

Narvaez is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks.

With a lefty (Caleb Smith) on the mound for Arizona and the two teams wrapping up the series with a day game after a night game, the lefty-hitting Narvaez will cede catching duties to Manny Pina. Narvaez was behind the plate for each of the Brewers' previous three games, going 2-for-11 with a walk, a run and an RBI.

Murphy isn't starting Wednesday's game against the Rockies.

Murphy went 1-for-3 with a run and a strikeout Tuesday, but he continues to alternate starts behind the plate. Luis Torrens will start at catcher and bat sixth.

Barnes hit a solo home run in a pinch-hit appearance during Tuesday's loss to San Diego.

The Dodgers' offense was quiet most of the game but pushed across a run in the eighth frame. With the team trailing by two in the ninth, Barnes was called upon to pinch hit and cut the deficit in half with a solo shot off Mark Melancon. The long ball accounted for his first RBI in what has been a rough month for the backstop -- he is batting only .174 in June, though he has worked five walks to register a respectable .321 OBP.

Murphy went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBI, two runs scored and a walk in Tuesday's 13-6 win over the Rangers.

Murphy doubled off Demarcus Evans in the ninth inning, knocking in a pair of runs to extend the lead. Also, he scored in the third frame on a Mark Canha single. The catcher is slashing .221/.330/.427 with nine home runs and 38 RBI in 233 plate appearances. He has reached base safely in his last seven games.

Nationals manager Dave Martinez said Gomes is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Phillies, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

Gomes is most likely just getting some extra maintenance for the day game after he went 2-for-4 with two RBI while catching all nine innings of Tuesday's 3-2 win. Alex Avila will catch for starting pitcher Erick Fedde in the series finale.
