Plawecki went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and a strikeout in Sunday's 6-5 loss to the Angels.
Plawecki had been on the bench in each of the last six contests, but he had a solid day at the plate Sunday and blasted his first home run of 2021. The 30-year-old should continue to serve mainly in a depth role behind Christian Vazquez going forward.

Yankees' Gary Sanchez: Homers in first inning
Sanchez went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run and a strikeout in Sunday's 10-6 loss to the Orioles.
Sanchez was part of a four-run rally in the first inning Sunday with his fifth home run of the season, but the Yankees were unable to pick up the win. Sanchez has now started in each of the last four games, and he's hitting .193 with 11 runs and 10 RBI this year.

Perez went 1-for-2 with an RBI and a walk in Sunday's loss against the White Sox.
Perez was removed from Saturday's win over the White Sox with groin tightness, but the injury wasn't serious and the star catcher found himself in the lineup once again, though he played as a designated hitter and was later subbed for in the top of the eighth after drawing a walk. Perez has hit safely in five of the Royals' last six games.

Pirates' Jacob Stallings: Suffers quad contusion
Stallings was removed from Sunday's game against the Giants with a bruised left quadriceps, Mike Persak of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
The 30-year-old went 1-for-3 with a run before taking a foul ball to the leg during the seventh inning. Stallings will have Monday's scheduled off day to aid in his recovery before potentially missing any time.

Dodgers' Keibert Ruiz: Back in majors
Ruiz was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Sunday, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.
The 22-year-old was sent down Monday but will rejoin the Dodgers with Corey Seager (hand) landing on the injured list. Ruiz doesn't figure to see much action with Will Smith and Austin Barnes still healthy.

Marlins' Sandy Leon: Out of Sunday's lineup
Leon is not in the lineup Sunday against the Diamondbacks, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
Leon is 3-for-26 in his past nine games and will take a seat Sunday in Los Angeles. Chad Wallach will work behind the plate for Miami in the series finale.
