D'Arnaud (thumb) remains without a definitive timeline to resume full baseball activities, but Atlanta has growing optimism that he may be ready to return from the 60-day injured list in the first half of August, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.

D'Arnaud continues to sport a cast on his left thumb after requiring surgery in early May to address a torn ligament, but that hasn't stopped him from getting conditioning work in. He was spotted on the field ahead of Sunday's game against the Dodgers taking part in throwing drills, though he wasn't able to catch while the cast was on his hand. Once d'Arnaud's cast is removed, Atlanta should have a better idea of when he might be ready to return to game action, but everything up to this point suggests that he's progressed quicker than expected more than a month after undergoing surgery.

Murphy went 1-for-4 with a double and an RBI in Sunday's loss to the Rockies.

Murphy notched Oakland's lone run with an RBI double that scored Tony Kemp in the top of the sixth, but that would be all the offense the Athletics would be able to muster in the entire game. The backstop has hit safely in six of Oakland's last eight contests but is hitting only .222 on the campaign.

Gallagher has gone 6-for-15 (.400) in his last six games.

The 28-year-old sees only a small share of playing time as backup to Salvador Perez. Gallagher has shown some improvement in recent games, but just two of his 10 hits this season have gone for extra bases (both doubles). He's slashing only .227/.271/.273 with no home runs, one RBI and three runs scored across 49 plate appearances.

Wynns went 2-for-5 with an RBI single and two runs scored in Sunday's 18-5 win over Cleveland.

Wynns hasn't done much in three games since he took Chance Sisco's spot on the roster. The hits Sunday were his first two of the year. He should continue to back up Pedro Severino, although neither catcher has inspired much confidence with the bat so far.

Realmuto went 2-for-3 with a three-run homer, two runs, two walks and one strikeout in Sunday's 12-6 win over the Nationals.

Realmuto has gotten on base in each of his seven games since returning from the 10-day injured list, and he extended Philadelphia's lead with his three-run blast in the sixth inning Sunday. Since returning from his hand injury, the 30-year-old has slashed .304/.452/.478 with a home run, six RBI and five runs.

McCann went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run and two strikeouts as New York defeated San Diego 6-2 Sunday.

McCann was quiet at the dish until taking San Diego reliever Craig Stammen deep to center in the eighth to extend the Mets' lead to 6-1. Four of McCann's six home runs have come since May 29 as he's 10-for-21 with six extra-base hits during the seven-game hot streak.

Wong has gone 1-for-11 with a double and an RBI in his three games at Triple-A Worcester since returning from a three-week absence due to a hamstring injury.

Worcester never placed Wong on the 7-day injured list, even though his recovery from the hamstring issue lingered longer than anticipated. The 25-year-old backstop maintains a .408 OPS on the season while striking out in 32 percent of his plate appearances.

Jansen (hamstring) will receive further testing Sunday and Monday, Kaitlyn McGrath of The Athletic reports.

Jansen exited Sunday's game against Houston with a right hamstring strain, but manager Charlie Montoyo described the strain as mild. If the 26-year-old needs to spend time on the injured list, Riley Adams could be an option to be called up as catching depth.

Caratini is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mets.

After he was behind the plate for all nine innings of Saturday's 4-0 loss to the Mets, Caratini will be given a routine breather for the day game after a night game. Webster Rivas will catch starting pitcher Chris Paddack in the series finale.

Jansen left Sunday's game against the Astros with a right hamstring strain, Hazel Mae of Sportsnet reports.

Reese McGuire took over at catcher in the fourth inning, and it has now been revealed that Jansen is dealing with the hamstring issue. A further update should be given later Sunday, but it should be noted that such injuries often lead to multi-week absences.
