Stallings isn't in the lineup for Game 2 of Friday's doubleheader against the Reds.

Stallings went 0-for-2 with two strikeouts during the matinee, and he'll take a seat for Game 2. John Ryan Murphy will take his place behind the dish.

Knizner was optioned off the Cardinals' active roster Friday.

Knizner had been filling in as the backup catcher with Matt Wieters out with a bruised toe, going 4-for-16 at the plate. He'll head back to the team's alternate training site now that Wieters is ready to return.

Narvaez is not in the lineup Friday at Cleveland.

Narvaez started the past three games and went 3-for-11 with one run, two RBI, a walk and seven strikeouts, and he'll take a seat for Friday's series opener. Jacob Nottingham takes over behind the plate for Milwaukee.

The 31-year-old was removed from Wednesday's contest with right shoulder fatigue and won't return to the lineup Friday. The specifics of the injury remain unclear, though Perez did miss time with a strain in the same shoulder earlier this season. Austin Hedges will take over behind the plate for Cleveland.

Gallagher is out of the lineup Friday against the White Sox, Alec Lewis of The Athletic reports.

Gallagher started the past two games but will receive the day off Friday. Meibrys Viloria will work behind the plate for the Royals in his place.

Grandal is not in the lineup Friday against the Royals.

Grandal's performances have picked up after some early struggles, as he's hitting .263/.391/.526 over his last 10 games. James McCann starts behind the plate Friday.

Vazquez will be on the bench for the first game of Friday's twin bill against Toronto, Bill Koch of The Providence Journal reports.

It's no surprise to see that Vazquez won't be asked to start twice behind the plate in one day. Kevin Plawecki gets the nod for the afternoon contest, but Vazquez will likely return to the lineup for the nightcap.

D'Arnaud will sit for the afternoon portion of Friday's doubleheader against Washington.

D'Arnaud has swung a hot bat all season, hitting .322/.355/.517. He'll hit the bench for the first game of the day with Tyler Flowers starting behind the plate, but he'll likely be back in action for the nightcap.

Barnhart will not start the afternoon portion of Friday's doubleheader against Pittsburgh.

Curt Casali will start behind the plate in the day's first game, with Barnhart presumably set to return to the lineup for the nightcap. He's struggled at the plate this season, hitting just .188/.278/.313.

Trevino went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI in Thursday's 8-4 loss to Houston.

The 28-year-old catcher has started three of the last four games (one at DH) since the Rangers dealt Robinson Chirinos at the trade deadline. Trevino, who has a career-best .806 OPS, will serve as the primary backstop going forward.
