  • Cubs' Willson Contreras: Officially back from IL

Contreras (hamstring) is catching and batting sixth Tuesday against Seattle.

As expected, Contreras has been activated from the 10-day injured list and will immediately enter the starting nine. He's set to catch for Jon Lester in his first game back from a hamstring injury.

  • Indians' Roberto Perez: Back in action

Perez (foot) is catching and batting eighth Tuesday against the White Sox.

Perez was lifted from Monday night's matchup after suffering a left foot contusion, but he won't be forced to miss any time due to the injury. He's batting .224 with 21 homers and 50 RBI over 101 games this season.

  • Mitch Garver C | SEA

Twins' Mitch Garver: Absent from Tuesday's lineup

Garver (jaw) isn't starting Tuesday's game against the Red Sox.

Garver left Monday's contest due to a sore jaw, and he'll be held out of Tuesday's clash as a result. Jason Castro gets the nod behind the dish and will bat eighth.

  • Royals' Cam Gallagher: Sitting Tuesday

Gallagher is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Tigers.

Gallagher returned from an oblique injury Sunday but didn't start that day's game. He'll remain on the bench for this contest, with Nick Dini getting the call behind the plate.

  • Cubs' Willson Contreras: Will return against Seattle

Contreras (hamstring) will be activated from the 10-day injured list ahead of Tuesday's game against Seattle, Mark Gonzales of the Chicago Tribune reports.

The move hasn't been made official just yet, but skipper Joe Maddon stated that Contreras will return for Chicago's only game against the Mariners. He's been on the injured list since Aug. 4 due to a right hamstring strain.

  • Zack Collins C | CLE

White Sox's Zack Collins: Likely to be added Tuesday

Collins is expected to be called up from Triple-A Charlotte on Tuesday, Lamond Pope of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Collins batted just .077 (2-for-26) with 14 strikeouts in his initial stint with the White Sox from June to July, but has put the bat on the ball since returning to the minors. He batted .323 for the Knights since July 16, even with a current slide that's seen him go hitless in his last 15 at-bats. The White Sox are looking to see if the adjustments he made to his plate approach since his return to Triple-A carry forth to the major-league level.

  • Indians' Roberto Perez: Departs with foot contusion

Perez was removed from Monday's game against the White Sox due to a left foot bruise, Ryan Lewis of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.

Considering the nature of the injury, Perez will likely be considered day-to-day moving forward. Kevin Plawecki or Eric Haase would see time behind the dish if Perez is forced to miss any time.

  • Austin Wynns C | TEX

Orioles' Austin Wynns: Called up for final month

Wynns will join the Orioles on Tuesday, Nathan Ruiz of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Wynns appeared in 16 games for the Orioles early in the season but didn't do much at the plate, hitting .233/.283/.256. He's expected to serve as the Orioles' third catcher down the stretch.

Twins' Mitch Garver: Day-to-day with sore jaw

Garver is day-to-day after exiting Monday's game against the Tigers with a sore jaw, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.

Garver appears to have escaped with a minor injury after taking a foul ball off his mask Monday. If he's forced to miss any time, Willians Astudillo or Jason Castro would fill in behind the dish.

Twins' Mitch Garver: Leaves after tip hits mask

Garver left Monday's game against the Tigers after taking a foul tip off his mask, LaVelle E. Neal III of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

The exact nature and severity of Garver's injury are not yet clear. Willians Astudillo was called in to take his place behind the plate and would be in line to split time with Jason Castro should Garver require an extended absence.
