Nola is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rangers.

Nola will take a seat after going hitless in 15 at-bats while starting each of the past four games. With Nola on the bench, Daniel Vogelbach will occupy first base, opening up the designated-hitter spot for Omar Narvaez.

Stallings is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rockies.

Stallings went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and a walk Saturday but will head to the bench in the series finale. Elias Diaz takes over behind the plate for Pittsburgh.

Perez was recalled from Triple-A Durham on Sunday, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.

Perez's return gives the Rays three catchers -- Travis d'Arnaud and Mike Zunino being the other two -- and offers manager Kevin Cash a left-handed option at the position. While he's expected to see occasional starts versus righties, Toribio reports Perez is mainly expected to serve as a defensive option behind the pair of veterans he's backing up.

D'Arnaud is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Indians.

D'Arnaud started each of the Rays' last three games behind the dish, going 5-for-13 with two home runs, five RBI and four runs. He'll just be getting some routine maintenance in the series finale while Mike Zunino checks in at catcher.

Knizner was recalled by the Cardinals on Sunday.

Knizner has made a few brief major-league appearances with the team this season but is now set to close out the campaign with the Cardinals. He's flashed his potential at the plate in August with Triple-A Memphis, hitting five home runs and two doubles in 13 games. While he may be the catcher of the future for the club, he doesn't figure to get much playing time to close the season behind both Yadier Molina and Matt Wieters.

Perez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rays.

Perez will give way to Kevin Plawecki behind the dish as the Tribe concludes its series in Tampa Bay with an afternoon game. Cleveland's top backstop ended August with a whimper, going 0-for-4 in Saturday's 9-6 loss to finish the month with a .139/.225/.278 slash line.

Jansen is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Astros.

The Blue Jays will alternate starts between their top two backstops for a fifth consecutive game, with Reese McGuire getting the nod behind the dish in the series finale. Jansen wrapped up August with a 1-for-4 showing in Saturday's 6-4 win, bringing his monthly average to .245.

Davis was recalled from Triple-A Iowa on Sunday.

Davis will join the Cubs as part of the September roster expansion and will provide catching depth behind Victor Caratini and Jonathan Lucroy while Willson Contreras (hamstring) remains on the injured list.

Haase was recalled from Triple-A Columbus on Sunday, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports.

Haase made a brief appearance with the Indians in May but has otherwise played with Columbus this season. He's struck out at a 35.4 percent clip across 401 plate appearances but has balanced that somewhat by blasting 28 homers. Regardless, he's likely to serve only as depth behind Roberto Perez and Kevin Plawecki to close the season.

Smith went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in a loss to the Diamondbacks on Saturday.

Smith homered to left field in the fourth inning to plate the Dodgers' second run. The 24-year-old is tied for seventh among National League catchers with 13 long balls despite playing only 37 games. He has also posted a .292/.364/.708 slash line and 1.072 OPS in 129 plate appearances.
