Perez is out of the lineup for the second game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Twins, Joel Goldberg of FOX Sports Kansas City reports.

Perez caught all nine innings in the first game, going 2-for-5 with two RBI and a run, and has started the last 10 games, so he'll take the evening off. The 27-year-old slashed .345/.360/.631 in June and appears well on his way to a fifth consecutive All-Star nod. Drew Butera will start in his place.

Grandal is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Padres, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.

Grandal will get a second day off while manager Dave Roberts rides the hot bat of Austin Barnes. Barnes plated seven runners during Friday's victory, going 2-for-5 with two home runs. Grandal is likely to be back in the lineup for Sunday's finale with Kenta Maeda on the mound.

Pena was placed on the 7-day disabled list with an undisclosed injury.

Pena was struggling with Triple-A Charlotte before landing on the disabled list, slashing just .179/.231/.231 with one homer through 39 games. The move is retroactive to June 25, so he'll be eligible to return anytime after Sunday. He should continue to serve as organizational depth once he is activated from the DL.

Gomes is out of the lineup for Game 2 of Saturday's doubleheader, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.

With the Indians playing two against Detroit on Saturday, Gomes will get the nightcap off while Roberto Perez draws the start behind the plate. Gomes is likely going to be back in the lineup for Sunday's series finale.

Mesoraco is out of Saturday's lineup against the Cubs, Mark Gonzales of the Chicago Tribune reports.

He takes a seat for the second game in a row, with Tucker Barnhart starting behind the dish and hitting eighth. Mesoraco does not play as much as a typical starting catcher, but he produces enough (.828 OPS) when he does play that he should still be rostered in deeper one-catcher formats and all two-catcher leagues.

Barnes went 2-for-5 with two home runs and seven RBI in Friday's win over the Padres.

Barnes had only compiled two homers and 11 RBI before his offensive explosion Friday. The backup catcher is now slashing a respectable .284/.398/.537 with 14 extra-base hits and 18 RBI in 41 games. His value will remain limited given he only receives one or two starts per week, but he could prove to be serviceable in deeper leagues should something happen to Yasmani Grandal.

Grandal is out of the lineup for Friday's game, J.P. Hoornstra of the Southern California News Group reports.

Grandal gets a standard day off following two straight starts against the Angels. In his place, Austin Barnes will take over behind the plate while batting sixth.

Maldonado is not in the lineup Friday against the Mariners, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Maldonado will head to the bench for what appears to be a regular day of rest after starting each of the past four contests. Juan Graterol will crouch behind the dish in his stead.

Murphy was sent down to Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday, Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post reports.

Murphy had been struggling ever since returning from the DL on June 15, going just 1-for-20 with two walks and seven strikeouts in eight games. He will head down to Albuquerque to clear his head and look to recapture the hitting form that he displayed in New Mexico's largest city during the 2016 season. In a corresponding move, the team recalled catcher Ryan Hanigan from Triple-A.

Sanchez is not in the lineup Friday against the Astros, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

Sanchez will head to the bench after starting each of the past five games for the Yankees. Austin Romine will draw the start behind the dish in his stead.
