Gomes left Tuesday's game after getting hit in the groin by a foul ball, the Cleveland Plain Dealer's Paul Hoynes reports.

He was replaced by Chris Gimenez, and it is unclear how serious the injury is. Gomes has hit for a little power this year, but his .176 batting average has negated any positives in most roto formats. His status should be updated prior to Wednesday's game against the Mariners.

McCann is out of the lineup Tuesday against the Blue Jays.

McCann is coming off a 2-for-4, three RBI showing in Monday's tilt that raised his season average up to .191, but he'll take a seat Tuesday. Jarrod Saltalamacchia -- who is also struggling at the plate -- will get the start behind the dish and bat eighth.

McCann went 2-for-4 with a homer and three RBI in Monday's win over the Blue Jays.

McCann may finally be recovering from a horrific start to the season, as he has bumped his OPS from .388 to .559 in just four games. He's hit two of his three home runs in that four-game stretch as well. The Tigers haven't gotten production from any of the other catchers they've tried this year -- Jarrod Saltalamacchia is hitting just .192/.292/.465 and Bobby Wilson put up just a .354 OPS in his five games -- so look for the Tigers to ride the hot hand of McCann while it lasts.

Hedges (hand) played in an extended spring training game and is expected to return to Triple-A El Paso within the week.

Hedges had yet to play in any sort of game situation this season as he is recovering from a broken hamate bone in his hand. The Padres will have no reason to rush him to the majors upon his return to Triple-A, as the big club has three catchers on the roster in Derek Norris, Christian Bethancourt and Hector Sanchez, but if he has a hot start for El Paso, he could find himself in the majors in the second half of the season.

Gomes is out of the lineup for Monday's game against Seattle.

Gomes is mired in a 3-for-24 slump and will sit in favor of Chris Gimenez for the second time in three days. Gimenez has just a .200/.256/.400 line himself, but if Gomes keeps struggling, Cleveland won't have much to lose by giving Gimenez a longer look. Gomes's batting line has dipped to .176/.213/.365, a far sight from the .278/.313/.472 mark he posted in his Silver Slugger campaign in 2014.

Grandal is not in the lineup for Monday's matchup with Colorado.

Grandal is just getting a routine day off, as he's started behind the dish the last three games. A.J. Ellis will get the start at catcher and bat eighth Monday. The 27-year-old will likely be back in the lineup Tuesday.

D'Arnaud is still a week away from catching in a rehab game, Marc Craig of Newsday reports.

D'Arnaud isn't expected back until late June and will not rejoin the team without catching some rehab games first. The 27-year-old is hitting .196/.288/.261 with one RBI in 46 games this season.

Thole is hitting just .130/.216/.196 in 46 at-bats this season.

The truth is that he's only on the big-league squad because he's R.A. Dickey's personal catcher. Thole isn't even an option off the bench for manager John Gibbons when the Jays are in need of a pinch hitter. Unless you're looking for a minimum-salary catcher in DFS once a week, Thole offers little to no fantasy value.

Stewart went 2-for-4 and scored a run in Sunday's loss to the Angels.

Sunday's contest marked Stewart's third straight start while Francisco Cervelli deals with a foot injury. Despite the team losing Sunday's contest, Stewart's performance was mildly relieving to the Pirates, as it put an end to his hitless streak of 13 at-bats. However, with a three-game series against the Mets and their dominant pitching staff on the horizon, it won't be a performance that's easy to replicate.

D'Arnaud (shoulder) will serve as the DH for High-A St. Lucie on Sunday night, MLB.com's Anthony DiComo reports.

This is good news for both fantasy owners and the Mets, as the team has struggled to get offense from the catcher position in the absence of d'Arnaud. Although the backstop will be able to log some at-bats in the minors, he remains without a timetable to return to throwing, which is the next major step in his recovery. He'll likely need a few starts at catcher in the minors before a realistic return estimate can be determined.
