Moreno started at catcher and went 2-for-3 in Monday's 3-2 loss to the Rockies.

Moreno, who was activated off the 10-day injured list Sunday, made his first start since rejoining the team -- he was used as a pinch hitter Sunday but did not play defensively. He missed nearly all of August and the first half of September with an adductor strain. The Diamondbacks optioned rookie backstop Adrian Del Castillo to Triple-A Reno on Monday, signaling that Moreno is ready to take on near-everyday duty.

Amaya went 3-for-4 with a triple, a run scored and two RBI in Monday's 9-2 win over the Athletics.

Amaya batted ninth and did his part to contribute to Chicago's 18-hit barrage. The catcher recorded just his second triple of the season and snapped an 0-for-7 slump that extended over his last five appearances. Amaya has struggled to find a ton of offensive consistency this year, though his playing time alone gives him a decent amount of fantasy value at a thin position.

Contreras went 1-for-2 with a two-run double, two walks and a stolen base in Monday's 6-2 win over the Phillies.

Contreras opened the scoring with a two-run double in the third inning and was part of a double steal in the seventh. Over his past 10 games, the catcher has three multi-hit efforts with five extra-base hits and 10 RBI. On the season, he is hitting .281 with 22 homers, 90 RBI, 94 runs scored and seven steals across 640 plate appearances.

Contreras has been ruled out for the remainder of the regular season after having his fractured right middle finger evaluated Monday, John Denton of MLB.com reports.

Contreras still needs two more weeks of rest before beginning baseball activities, so he will run out of time. On the bright side, he should be healed up in time to have a relatively normal offseason. Contreras will finish the 2024 season having been limited to just 84 games due to injury, although he was productive when on the field with an .848 OPS and 15 home runs. Pedro Pages and Ivan Herrera will continue to share catching duties for the Cardinals in the final two weeks.

Lee is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Angels, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.

Lee and Chuckie Robinson have alternated starts at catcher over the last five contests. It will be Robinson behind the dish for Monday's series opener.

The Dodgers placed Barnes on the 10-day injured list Monday due to a fractured left big toe.

The fracture is to the same toe that Barnes previously fractured in August. While he spent the minimum 10 days on the IL in his first stint, the expectation this time around is that Barnes will be sidelined until the postseason, per Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register. Hunter Feduccia was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City to fill in for Barnes as the Dodgers' backup catcher behind Will Smith.

Feduccia is expected to serve as the Dodgers' backup catcher behind Will Smith for the rest of the regular season after Austin Barnes was placed on the 10-day injured list due to a fractured left big toe. Feduccia has appeared in two major-league games this season, with his last outing taking place Aug. 25 against the Rays. The 27-year-old is slashing .284/.409/.428 with six home runs and 50 RBI across 350 plate appearances in Triple-A this season.
