Wynns (shoulder) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Louisville on Sept. 17, MLB.com reports.

Wynns suffered a right teres major tear but was recently cleared to throw to bases. He is on the 60-day injured list and not eligible to return until Sept. 27, two days before the end of the season. While it's possible he could make a late-season return, it wouldn't seem to be a given that he's added to the Reds' roster.

Langeliers is absent from the lineup for Thursday's game versus the Mariners.

It's a routine day of rest for Langeliers, who had started each of the previous six contests. Kyle McCann will do the catching for Joey Estes in the series finale.

Rortvedt is not in the lineup for Thursday's contest against the Twins.

Rortvedt caught the night game Wednesday, so he will be given some rest for Thursday's matinee. Logan Driscoll will do the catching for the Rays.

The Astros optioned Salazar to Triple-A Sugar Land on Thursday, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Salazar was recalled when rosters expanded to serve as the Astros' third catcher, but he's being sent back out for now. He struck out in his lone plate appearance during his brief stint in the majors.

The Rays designated Jackson for assignment Thursday, Tricia Whitaker of Bally Sports Sun reports.

Jackson has slashed only .122/.201/.237 in 58 games this season. The Rays will now use Logan Driscoll as their backup catcher behind Ben Rortvedt.

Realmuto went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 4-2 victory over the Blue Jays.

Realmuto took Ryan Burr deep to lead off the top of the ninth inning, adding an insurance run in Philadelphia's two-run win. It's the fourth homer in 11 games for Realmuto, who's gone 14-for-32 (.326) with a 1.039 OPS in that span. The 33-year-old backstop is now slashing .261/.317/.422 through 357 plate appearances this season with 12 homers, 38 RBI, 43 runs scored and a pair of stolen bases.

Stephenson went 2-for-4 with three RBI in Wednesday's 12-5 win over the Astros.

Stephenson capped the scoring in the Reds' nine-run first inning with a two-run single and later singled in a run in the third. The three-RBI game elevated him to a career-high 58 for the season.

Rogers isn't in Detroit's lineup for Wednesday's game against the Padres, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Rogers grab a seat on the bench Wednesday after going 0-for-3 during a loss in Tuesday's series opener. Dillon Dingler will start behind the dish instead and bat ninth.

Smith isn't in the Dodgers' lineup for Wednesday's game against the Angels.

The Dodgers will give Smith a chance to rest Wednesday after he went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts during Tuesday's series opener. Austin Barnes will catch instead for Bobby Miller and bat ninth.

Bailey isn't in the Giants' lineup for Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

After going 3-for-17 with six strikeouts since returning from the injured list, Bailey will get a chance to rest Wednesday while Curt Casali starts behind the plate and bats ninth.
