Cardinals' Willson Contreras: Suffers arm fracture
Contreras fractured his left arm during Tuesday's game against the Mets, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.
Contreras had to leave Tuesday's contest in the second inning after his arm was struck by a J.D. Martinez swing. He will almost certainly spend an extended period of time on the injured list, leaving Ivan Herrera as the Cardinals' new primary catcher. Pedro Pages was pulled from his game at Triple-A Memphis shortly after Contreras went down and may be promoted to serve as Herrera's backup.

Cardinals' Willson Contreras: Exits with hand injury
Contreras was removed from Tuesday's game against the Mets with an apparent left hand injury, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.
Contreras was hit in the hand by a J.D. Martinez swing during the second inning of Tuesday's contest, and he appeared to be in a significant amount of pain before walking off the field. The 31-year-old backstop will almost certainly go in for X-rays, and the Cardinals should offer an update on his status in the near future.

Bailey (concussion) could start light baseball activity Wednesday, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Bailey was placed on the 7-day injured list with a concussion Saturday and is now on the cusp of returning to log some activity on the field, according to manager Bob Melvin. The catcher will need to ramp up his work over a few days before he'd potentially be able to return to the lineup. In the meantime, Blake Sabol will likely continue to handle most the work behind the plate due to Tom Murphy (knee) also being unavailable.

Diamondbacks' Gabriel Moreno: Battling illness
Moreno isn't in the Diamondbacks' lineup Tuesday against the Reds due to an illness, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.
Manager Torey Lovullo said Moreno will be available off the bench Tuesday, but the Diamondbacks will likely do everything they can to give him the day off to rest. Tucker Barnhart is starting behind the plate and batting eighth in Moreno's place.

Campusano will hand over catching duties to Kyle Higashioka for the second time in the last three days. After enduring a 1-for-13 (.076) stretch at the plate, Campusano has rebounded with hits in three straight games, tallying five RBI and a pair of runs scored in that stretch.

Wong is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against Atlanta, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.
It's the second straight game on the bench for Wong, which is surprising given he's been one of the most productive catchers in baseball with a .950 OPS. Reese McGuire went 2-for-4 with a double and stolen base Sunday and is making his second consecutive start behind the plate Tuesday.

Moreno will cede catching duties to Tucker Barnhart for a second consecutive game Tuesday. Moreno is slashing .241/.340/.322 with a 12 percent strikeout rate through 100 plate appearances.
