Stephenson is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Giants.

Stephenson posted a .988 OPS over his last 10 games, but he has not started three days in a row behind the plate all season, so it comes as no surprise that he is getting a breather after opening at catcher the past two days.

Raleigh is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the A's.

Only twice has Raleigh started four games in a row since the All-Star break, so it should not come as a major surprise that he is getting a breather after starting the last three contests. Brian O'Keefe will replace him behind the plate.

Vazquez is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Guardians.

Vazquez and Ryan Jeffers alternated the starts over the last seven games, but the pattern will break Monday, as Jeffers will get the nod behind the plate for the second time in as many days.

Rortvedt is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Tigers.

Rortvedt will take a seat for the second straight day while the Yankees reward Kyle Higashioka with another turn behind the dish after he slugged a home run in Sunday's 7-4 loss to the Rays. Expect the Yankees to deploy Rortvedt and Higashioka in a roughly even timeshare as the season winds down.

Adams is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Blue Jays, Andrew Golden of The Washington Post reports.

While Keibert Ruiz had experienced some lightheadness, Adams started at catcher in each of the last four games, going 1-for-15 with nine strikeouts. Even though the Nationals called up Drew Millas from Triple-A Rochester on Monday to provide extra insurance behind the dish, Ruiz has been cleared to resume catching duties and will step in as Washington's starting backstop in the series opener in Toronto. Adams is expected to see his playing time take a hit moving forward.

Ruiz (head) will start at catcher and bat cleanup in Monday's game against the Blue Jays, Andrew Golden of The Washington Post reports.

Though the Nationals called up Drew Millas from Triple-A Rochester to give the team a third catcher on the 26-man active roster, Ruiz will be able to resume duties behind the dish Monday after not starting in either of the past two contests and not catching at all in the previous four contests. Riley Adams will head back to the bench after serving as the Nationals' starting catcher each of the past four games while Ruiz experienced a bout of lightheadness after taking a foul tip to his catcher's mask last Wednesday.

Narvaez will start at catcher and bat seventh in Monday's game against the Rangers, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

Narvaez will pick up his second start in three games while No. 1 backstop Francisco Alvarez rests. The Mets have suggested that the 22-year-old Alvarez could have his catching workload managed down the stretch, so Narvaez could end up moving into more a timeshare behind the plate in September rather than serving as a clear No. 2 option. Narvaez is slashing .205/.294/.341 with one home run, three RBI and four runs in 16 games since the All-Star break.

Alvarez is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Rangers, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

Alvarez will sit for the second time in three days while the Mets remain conscious of managing the 22-year-old's catching workload as the season winds down. Omar Narvaez will get another turn behind the plate and could end up working in a roughly even timeshare with Alvarez in the final month of the campaign.

Rogers is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Yankees.

Rogers will get a break in the Tigers' series opener with the Yankees after he started at catcher in four of the previous five contests. Carson Kelly will step in behind the dish and form a battery with starting pitcher Reese Olson.

Mejia cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Durham on Monday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Meija has accepted the outright assignment, per Topkin, which isn't a surprise since declining it would mean forfeiting what remains of his $2.16 million salary for this season. The catcher is under team control for 2024 but would seem to be a likely non-tender candidate.
