Rays' Christian Bethancourt: Piling up hits
Bethancourt went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two runs scored and an RBI on Friday against the Dodgers.
Bethancourt turned in his second consecutive multi-hit game and third in his last four starts. Nevertheless, he's maintained a .275 batting average with five RBI and seven runs scored in that same span.

Adley Rutschman C | BAL
Orioles' Adley Rutschman: Perfect day at plate
Rutschman went 3-for-3 with a solo homer and a walk in Friday's loss to Texas.
Rutschman homered in the first inning and was one of just two Orioles with multiple hits in the blowout loss. Since his last multi-hit game May 13, he was hitting just .171 (7-for-41) over an 11-game stretch. Despite a streaky month, Rutschman is still sporting a strong .274/.402/.441 slash line with a 41:31 BB:K and 15 extra-base hits this season.

Gabriel Moreno C | ARI
Diamondbacks' Gabriel Moreno: Out due to root canal surgery
Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo told reporters prior to Friday's game against the Red Sox that Moreno is not in the lineup against the Red Sox after undergoing root canal surgery, but he is available off the bench, Jesse Friedman of PHNX Sports reports.
It seems likely that Moreno will only be used in an emergency situation, but there's a good chance the backstop will return to action later in the series against Boston.

Gabriel Moreno C | ARI
Diamondbacks' Gabriel Moreno: Sits second straight
Moreno isn't in Arizona's lineup for Friday's game against Boston.
Moreno is batting just .154 (2-for-13) over the last week, so he'll get another day to regroup. Jose Herrera will take over behind the plate and bat ninth.

Matt Thaiss C | BOS
Angels' Matt Thaiss: Out of lineup against lefty
Thaiss is out of the lineup Friday versus the Marlins.
Chad Wallach will catch and bat eighth with left-hander Jesus Luzardo set to take the mound for Miami. Thaiss is enjoying a strong season but probably will continue to sit against most southpaws.

Danny Jansen C | TEX
Blue Jays' Danny Jansen: Lands on injured list
The Blue Jays placed Jansen on the 10-day injured list Friday with a left groin strain.
Jansen suffered a groin injury while running to first base Wednesday against Tampa Bay, and he will now officially be forced to sit out until early June. Alejandro Kirk will likely fill in as Toronto's primary catcher while Jansen is on the IL, and Tyler Heineman -- who was recalled from Triple-A Buffalo on Friday -- figures to be Kirk's backup.
-
Jonah Heim C | ATH
Rangers' Jonah Heim: Absent from lineup
Heim is not in the lineup for Friday's game in Baltimore.
It looks to be a routine day off for Heim after he started each of the previous four contests. Sandy Leon has seemed to become Jon Gray's personal catcher of late and will be behind the plate again for him Friday.

Sean Murphy C | ATL
Braves' Sean Murphy: Sitting out Friday
Murphy is absent from the lineup for Friday's game against the Phillies.
Murphy has a seven-game hitting streak going but has now been out of the lineup for two of the last three contests. Travis d'Arnaud will catch Jared Shuster.
