  • Nick Solak 1B | PIT

Rangers' Nick Solak: Out of Sunday's lineup

Solak is not in the lineup Sunday against the Angels.

Solak will head to the bench Sunday after starting the past 48 games and posting a .253/.310/.337 slash line in 178 at-bats. Willie Calhoun starts in left field while Derek Dietrich serves as the designated hitter Sunday.

  • Luis Torrens DH | NYM

Mariners' Luis Torrens: Plates two versus former team

Torrens went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI in Saturday's 4-1 win over the Padres.

Torrens' two-run double in the third inning staked Seattle pitcher Justus Sheffield to a 3-1 lead, which was all the run support the southpaw would need in his quality start. Since being acquired from San Diego in a seven-player deal Aug. 30, Torrens has taken over as Seattle's top catcher and has impressed in regular playing time, slashing .293/.370/.463 in 12 games with his new team.

  • Miguel Cabrera DH | DET

Tigers' Miguel Cabrera: Back in lineup

Cabrera (illness) is back in the lineup for Sunday's game against Cleveland.

The Tigers scratched Cabrera from Saturday's lineup with a non-COVID-related illness, but he appeared off the bench in that game and is feeling well enough to return to the starting nine against Carlos Carrasco and company. Cabrera is under contract for several more years, but he's an afterthought in fantasy at this point as he's not even hitting for the same kind of empty batting average he provided the prior two seasons (.232/.324/.356).

  • Kyle Lewis DH | ARI

Mariners' Kyle Lewis: Adds insurance with solo shot

Lewis went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 4-1 win over the Padres.

Lewis belted his 11th homer of the season in the fifth inning to produce the final run of the game. The 25-year-old outfielder has added 28 RBI, 35 runs scored and three stolen bases while slashing .286/.380/.484 in 51 games.

  • Nick Solak 1B | PIT

Rangers' Nick Solak: Grabs fifth steal

Solak went 2-for-4 with a stolen base and a run in a 4-3 loss to the Angels on Saturday.

In the first inning, he scored on a Rougned Odor homer after he hit a single. Solak then showed speed in the third to reach on an infield single before stealing second, but he didn't get home that time. The versatile 25-year-old has five steals, two homers, 20 RBI and 23 runs scored in 51 games this season.

  • Shohei Ohtani DH | LAD

Angels' Shohei Ohtani: Scores twice in win

Ohtani went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Rangers.

Ohtani got the Angels on the board with his solo shot in the second inning. He added a leadoff single in the fifth before scoring on Taylor Ward's double. The homer was Ohtani's sixth of the year, to go with 21 RBI, 20 runs scored, seven stolen bases and a .200/.294/.378 slash line in 38 games.

  • Ji-Man Choi 1B | NYM

Rays' Ji-Man Choi: Slated for batting practice

Choi (hamstring) will take batting practice at the Rays' alternate training site Sunday and Monday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Choi was placed on the 10-day injured list Sunday with a Grade 1 hamstring strain and is expected to miss 2-3 weeks. While it's encouraging that he'll be able to hit after just one week, manager Kevin Cash said that there are still a number of other hurdles that he'll have to clear before returning to game action.

  • Miguel Cabrera DH | DET

Tigers' Miguel Cabrera: Scratched from lineup

Cabrera was scratched from Saturday's lineup with an illness unrelated to COVID-19, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

With Cabrera out of the lineup, Harold Castro will serve as the designated hitter with Isaac Paredes taking over at third base. It's unclear whether the illness will impact Cabrera's availability going forward.

  • Yankees' Giancarlo Stanton: Officially not starting

Stanton isn't in Saturday's lineup against the Red Sox.

Stanton will get a planned day off Saturday as the Yankees continue to ease him back into action. Aaron Judge will rest his legs as the designated hitter with Mike Tauchman starting in right field.

  • Yankees' Giancarlo Stanton: Unlikely to be in lineup Saturday

Yankees manager Aaron Boone indicated Friday that Stanton will sit out Saturday's game against the Red Sox but will return Sunday for the series finale, Marly Rivera of ESPN.com reports.

Both Stanton and Aaron Judge are working their way back from injuries, so the Yankees plan to manage their time carefully as they build back up. Friday marked the first time since Aug. 8 that both sluggers were in the same lineup, and the pair combined to go 2-for-9.
