Byron Buxton CF | MIN
Twins' Byron Buxton: Placed on minor-league DL
Buxton was put on the 7-day disabled list at Triple-A Rochester on Wednesday due to a left wrist strain, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.
On Monday, Buxton suffered a recurrence of the wrist injury that initially put him on the shelf in the middle of July. It doesn't appear as though he sustained any sort of structural damage, but don't expect the Twins to rush him back into action at Rochester until he's fully healthy.

Michael Brantley LF | HOU
Indians' Michael Brantley: Receives breather vs. lefty
Brantley is not in the lineup against Minnesota on Wednesday.
Brantley will take a seat for Wednesday's matinee with southpaw Adalberto Mejia on the mound for the Twins. Manager Terry Francona will trot out an outfield of Melky Cabrera, Rajai Davis and Brandon Guyer. Look for Brantley to return to the lineup for Friday's series opener versus the Angels.

Mark Canha LF | TEX
Athletics' Mark Canha: Doubles twice Tuesday
Canha went 2-for-4 with two doubles, an RBI and a stolen base in Tuesday's win over the Blue Jays.
Canha literally stole a run in the third inning, going home on a double-steal for his first stolen base of the season. The 29-year-old enjoyed a strong month, slashing .291/.360/.494 in July to raise his line on the year to .264/.338/.475 -- all of which would mark career bests.

Twins' Byron Buxton: Suffers setback
Manager Paul Molitor said Buxton left Monday's game with a sore wrist and will likely return to the minor-league disabled list, Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Buxton was reinstated from the 7-day DL at Triple-A Rochester last weekend after spending a couple weeks on the shelf due to a strained wrist. Molitor did not state whether Buxton would require a similar stay on the disabled list this time, but more should be known following further evaluation on his wrist Wednesday morning.

Mark Canha LF | TEX
Athletics' Mark Canha: Slugs 14th homer in blowout
Canha went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and two runs in a win over the Blue Jays on Monday.
Canha got the Athletics' scoring barrage started with a 377-foot shot to left center in the second. The outfielder is finishing the month up in solid fashion, as he's hit safely in six of his last eight games, including all five of his starts during that stretch. The 29-year-old continues to boast a career-best stat line (.261/.335/.467) and his ability to play multiple outfield spots should continue affording him regular playing time despite the emergence of Nick Martini.

Miguel Cabrera DH | DET
Tigers' Miguel Cabrera: Believes he will be ready for spring training
Cabrera (biceps), who has been splitting his time between Michigan and Florida since going down for the season in mid-June, said he's optimistic that he'll be ready for the start of spring training, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.
Cabrera has primarily been doing rehab work in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He said the process has been "a little slow," but he remains optimistic that his injury won't force him to miss time in 2019. The 35-year-old had an .843 OPS in 38 games before going down with a torn bicep, and while he's not as formidable a hitter as he once was, Cabrera could still have a little bit left in his bat if he comes back healthy. The veteran certainly figures to come at a steep discount in fantasy drafts next spring.

Daniel Vogelbach DH | TOR
Mariners' Daniel Vogelbach: Sent back down to Tacoma
Vogelbach was optioned to Triple-A Tacoma on Monday.
Vogelbach only played in two games after being called up for the second half of the season, and will head back to the Triple-A level as James Paxton (back) comes off the DL. Look for Vogelbach to return to Seattle once rosters expand in September, though he could wind up coming back sooner if there's an injury or two.

Seth Beer DH | PIT
Astros' Seth Beer: Promoted to Buies Creek
Beer was called up to High-A Buies Creek on Monday, Sam Dykstra of MiLB reports.
Beer only spent a month with Low-A Quad Cities after earning a quick promotion from short-season Tri City following just 11 games with the team. Across 28 outings with Quad Cities, he slashed .342/.430/.486 with three home runs, 16 RBI and one stolen base.

J.D. Martinez DH | NYM
Red Sox's J.D. Martinez: Collects three RBI vs. Twins
Martinez went 2-for-4 with a double, three RBI and a walk Sunday in the 3-0 win over Minnesota.
Martinez accounted for all three of Boston's runs in the series finale, as he doubled home a pair in the second inning, followed by an RBI single in the fourth. He's put together a modest six-game hitting streak, but he's homered three times and driven in eight runs over that stretch. Martinez continues to impress in 2018, slashing .326/.390/.643 with a 1.033 OPS through 100 games.
