Manager Aaron Boone expects Rice (elbow) to be back in the starting lineup Tuesday against the Guardians, Brendan Kuty of The Athletic reports.

Rice has missed his club's last two matchups due to a bruised left elbow. The team will presumably give the first baseman another look Tuesday morning before making a final decision on his availability for the second game of the series.

Manzardo went 1-for-3 with a solo homer and a walk in Monday's 5-4 win versus the Yankees.

Manzardo went back-to-back with Jose Ramirez in the third inning, launching a 366-foot solo shot off starter Clarke Schmidt. The Washington State product has now gone yard in three straight games. Manzardo is also riding a five-game hit streak over which he's hit .333 (6-for-18) with six RBI and three runs scored.

Rice (elbow) remains out of the lineup for Monday's game in Cleveland.

It's the second straight start Rice has missed after he sustained a left elbow contusion as a result of a pair of hit-by-pitches in Saturday's game against the Rays. He took some swings pregame and could be available off the bench, per Greg Joyce of the New York Post. Aaron Judge will receive a second straight start at designated hitter Monday, while Pablo Reyes is getting the call in right field.

Pederson was held out of the starting lineup against a right-hander Sunday against the Dodgers.

The hot-hitting Josh Smith filled in at designated hitter against a right-hander, which has been Pederson's role. Unfortunately for Pederson, a season-opening slump (3-for-55, .055) may cost him some starts in the short term.

Manzardo went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer and an additional RBI in Sunday's 5-4 extra-inning victory against the Pirates.

The 24-year-old drew his fourth start of the season at first base and blasted a long ball for the second consecutive day. Manzardo took southpaw reliever Joey Wentz deep in the seventh inning to stretch Cleveland's lead to 4-1. Manzardo is now slashing .212/.321/.545 with six homers, 16 RBI and 10 runs scored over 81 plate appearances.

Rice (elbow) isn't in the Yankees' starting lineup Sunday against Tampa Bay, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.

Rice was plunked in the left elbow against the Rays on Saturday and was lifted from the game in the sixth inning. X-rays and a CT scan both returned negative, and Rice was diagnosed with a left elbow contusion. The 26-year-old doesn't appear to be dealing with a serious injury, but he'll begin on the bench Sunday while Aaron Judge gets a turn at DH.

Pederson batted fifth in the order and went 0-for-2 in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Dodgers.

Pederson had consistently batted third to begin the 2025 campaign, but his season-opening slump finally prompted manager Bruce Bochy to move him down in the order, with Josh Smith taking over the third spot Saturday. Pederson is now 2-for-55 (.055) to start the season and could be in danger of more than being dropped in the order. Bochy might be tempted to give the hot-hitting Smith (.341), a super-utility player without a permanent home in the everyday lineup, more opportunities at DH ahead of Pederson.

Diaz went 3-for-5 with a double and two RBI on Saturday against the Yankees.

Diaz failed to record multiple hits across his first 10 starts of the campaign, but he continues to turn things around at the plate, as Saturday marked his fifth multi-hit effort in his last 11 starts. In that 11-game sample, Diaz has also managed three homers and five total extra-base hits to go along with seven RBI and seven runs scored.

Devers went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run and a walk in Saturday's 4-3 extra-inning win over the White Sox.

Devers opened the scoring with a three-run blast off Shane Smith in the fifth inning. The 28-year-old has hit safely in four straight contests and was intentionally walked in a tie game in the ninth inning. On the season, he's slashing .229/.343/.386 with two home runs, 12 RBI and 12 runs scored across 83 plate appearances.

Manzardo went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 3-0 win over the Pirates.

Manzardo gave the Guardians a two-run lead in the seventh inning, when he took the first pitch from Paul Skenes deep to right field for a solo homer. It was Manzardo's fifth homer of the season, which already ties his total from the 2024 regular season. The 24-year-old is top 10 in the American League in both home runs and RBI (13), and he ranks 16th in slugging percentage (.500) to start the year.
