Canha is not in the starting lineup Wednesday versus the Astros.

Canha will get a breather after he went 1-for-2 with an RBI in Tuesday's 4-2 loss. Tommy Pham will replace him in left field while Daniel Vogelbach takes over at designated hitter and bats seventh in the series finale with Houston.

Winker is not in the starting lineup Wednesday versus the Diamondbacks.

Winker will take a seat after he went 1-for-6 with a two-run homer and four strikeouts over the first two games of the series. Rowdy Tellez will take over at designated hitter and bat cleanup in the series finale with Arizona.

McCutchen is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cubs due to a sore right elbow, Justice delos Santos of MLB.com reports.

Manager Derek Shelton downplayed concern about the injury, noting that McCutchen is day-to-day and is just receiving an additional game off to manage the elbow issue. With McCutchen sitting for the second straight contest, rookie Henry Davis will get another look as the Pirates' designated hitter.

Carpenter is not in the lineup Tuesday versus the Giants.

Rougned Odor will man DH for the Padres and bat sixth against the Giants and right-hander Anthony DeSclafani. Nelson Cruz and Gary Sanchez are also sitting. Carpenter, 37, has slashed just .135/.243/.214 over his last 103 plate appearances dating back to May 2.

McCutchen is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Cubs.

Henry Davis will serve as the Pirates' designated hitter and bat fifth versus the Cubs and right-hander Marcus Stroman. Josh Palacios, Jack Suwinski and Connor Joe are starting across the outfield. This looks to be a routine day off for McCutchen, who singled and drew two walks in Monday's series opener.

Vogelbach went 2-for-5 with a home run and three total RBI in an 11-1 win over Houston on Monday.

Vogelbach kicked off a five-run third inning for the Mets with his solo homer to right field. He then produced the game's final two runs with a ninth-inning, two-run single. After belting 18 homers between the Pirates and Mets last season, Vogelbach has gone deep just four times in 51 contests so far in 2023. However, half of his long balls have come across his past four games.

Carpenter will sit Monday versus the Giants.

Carpenter will get a day off after he went 0-for-5 with a walk and a strikeout while starting the final two games of the team's series with Tampa Bay. Rougned Odor will take over at designated hitter and bat seventh in the series opener with San Francisco.

The Cardinals optioned Baker to Triple-A Memphis on Monday, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

He'll move back to the minors to clear a spot on the 26-man active roster for outfielder Lars Nootbaar (back), who was reinstated from the 10-day injured list in a corresponding move. Following his promotion from Memphis on June 4, Baker started at designated hitter in his first two games with the Cardinals, but he cracked the lineup just once in the team's subsequent 11 contests. He'll get the chance to play on a regular basis in his return to Triple-A.
