  • Mark Canha LF | TEX

Mets' Mark Canha: Gets Sunday off

Canha is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rangers.

Canha will retreat to the bench after he went 3-for-33 with a home run and four RBI while starting in nine of the Mets' last 10 games. Jeff McNeil will replace Canha in the outfield in the series finale.

  • Rockies' Charlie Blackmon: Drives in two, scores twice

Blackmon went 2-for-5 with a double, two runs scored and two RBI on Saturday against the Diamondbacks.

Blackmon has gone 8-for-18 with a home run, two doubles, four RBI and five runs scored through four games of the Rockies' current homestand. He's also maintained a .472 slugging percentage across 308 plate appearances for the season -- his highest mark since 2019.

  • Justin Turner DH | CHC

Dodgers' Justin Turner: Productive in Saturday's win

Turner went 2-for-3 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored in Saturday's 7-2 win over the Padres.

Turner knocked a solo shot for the Dodgers' third homer in the first inning. He added a sacrifice fly in the seventh inning. The third baseman has five multi-hit efforts in his last 11 games, going 13-for-37 (.351) in that span. It's a not-too-unfamiliar hot stretch for Turner, but his season slash line is at .229/.300/.385 after a cold first half of the campaign. He's added seven homers, 43 RBI, 35 runs scored, a stolen base and 20 doubles through 72 contests, though he's certainly trending in the right direction.

  • Cooper Hummel LF | HOU

Diamondbacks' Cooper Hummel: Recalled by Arizona

Hummel was recalled from Triple-A Reno on Saturday.

Hummel hit just .178 over 41 major-league games to begin the season, but he performed much better after being demoted to the minors. He slashed .346/.477/.500 with two homers, 13 runs, seven RBI and two stolen bases over 14 games in Reno and will rejoin the big-league club after Pavin Smith was sent down.

  • Rockies' Charlie Blackmon: Lifts 13th homer

Blackmon went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 9-3 loss to the Diamondbacks.

Blackmon celebrated his 36th birthday with a solo shot in the eighth inning, but that was little more than window dressing in the lopsided loss. The veteran outfielder has gone 7-for-18 (.389) with three extra-base hits in his last four contests. He's up to 13 homers, 42 RBI, 39 runs scored and a pair of stolen bases while slashing .267/.318/.469 across 303 plate appearances.

  • Cubs' Christopher Morel: Homers in third straight game

Morel went 1-for-5 with a homer and three RBI in Friday's win over the Red Sox.

Morel hit a two-run shot off Hansel Robles to tie the game in the sixth inning. He's now homered in three consecutive games, giving him eight homers in 41 games this season. He'll have to keep showing power to remain the above-average hitter he's been thus far, as his 30.0 percent strikeout rate suggests his .281 batting average is due to drop soon.

  • Jorge Soler DH | LAA

Marlins' Jorge Soler: Being placed on 10-day IL

Soler will be placed on the 10-day injured list prior to Friday's contest against the Nationals with bilateral pelvis inflammation, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Soler was a late scratch from Wednesday's game versus the Cardinals due to back discomfort, but a different injury will be attributed to his placement on the IL. The outfielder had been playing through the injury recently, which suggests his absence could be limited to just the 10 days. A corresponding move will likely be made later Friday.

  • Justin Turner DH | CHC

Dodgers' Justin Turner: Blasts two homers in win

Turner went 3-for-3 with a pair of home runs and three total RBI in Thursday's 3-1 victory against San Diego.

Padres starter Joe Musgrove mostly shut down Dodgers hitters in the contest, but he couldn't contain Turner, who notched his first multi-homer game of the season. All three of Los Angeles' runs came by way of Turner long balls, as the veteran went deep in the second inning and again in the seventh. He's still well below his career norms with a .227/.298/.375 slash line and just six homers through 70 contests on the campaign, but his power has come in spurts at times in the past, so he'll look to build on Thursday's performance.

  • Cubs' Christopher Morel: Raps five hits in rout

Morel went 5-for-5 with a home run, a double, three runs and two RBI in Thursday's 15-7 victory versus Cincinnati.

Reds pitchers were unable to keep Morel off the basepaths in the contest, as he racked up a career-best five hits and fell a triple short of the cycle. He capped his performance with an eighth-inning solo homer that traveled an estimated 440 feet. Morel has now gone deep in consecutive games for the second time this season and is 8-for-14 with two homers, five RBI and six runs over his past three contests.

  • Pirates' Daniel Vogelbach: Smacks 10th homer

Vogelbach went 1-for-3 with two walks and a solo home run Wednesday against the Nationals.

Vogelbach took Paolo Espino yard in the fourth inning to record his 10th home run of the season. It was his third homer in his last 11 games, and he's also tallied seven RBI and eight runs scored in that span. Vogelbach has been locked into the designated hitter role against right-handed pitching, though the Pirates lineup remains fluid so he'll likely need to keep hitting to retain consistent playing time.
