  • Marlins' Bryan De La Cruz: Goes deep again

De La Cruz went 2-for-4 with a solo home run during Wednesday's 3-1 loss to the Dodgers.

De La Cruz produced the only run for the Marlins, tagging Gavin Stone for a solo shot in the fourth inning. The DH has gone yard in three of his last five games, bringing his season total to eight. With Wednesday's homer, De La Cruz's ISO sits at .205, up from .154 last season.

  • Gary Sanchez C | BAL

Brewers' Gary Sanchez: Goes yard again

Sanchez went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and an additional run scored during Wednesday's 6-4 loss to Kansas City.

Sanchez notched his second home run of the series Wednesday, tagging Nick Anderson for a solo homer in the seventh inning. The 31-year-old has slowly been climbing out of his early season slump, collecting eight hits in his last 23 at-bats, with four home runs during that stretch.

  • Jorge Soler RF | LAA

Giants' Jorge Soler: Lands on injured list

The Giants placed Soler on the 10-day injured list Wednesday with a right shoulder strain, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

Soler's shoulder has caused him to miss the last three games, and he'll now officially be sidelined for another several days. The move is retroactive to Sunday, so it's possible the 32-year-old slugger is able to return in a week, but the Giants will wait and see how his shoulder heals. Heliot Ramos was recalled from Triple-A Sacramento in a corresponding move.

  • Patrick Wisdom 3B | CHC

Cubs' Patrick Wisdom: Sitting in third straight

Wisdom is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Padres.

Wisdom is on the bench for the third straight game and looks to be the odd man out of the Cubs' regular lineup following Cody Bellinger's return from the 10-day injured list. The 32-year-old Wisdom could still play regularly against left-handed pitching.

  • Marlins' Bryan De La Cruz: Homers in blowout loss

De La Cruz went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 8-2 loss to the Dodgers.

De La Cruz got a hold of one against Yoshinobu Yamamoto in the sixth, but the game was already well out of reach. De La Cruz has been producing well as of late, tallying nine hits, six RBI and eight runs over his last eight games. He's been one of the Marlins' most productive hitters all year thus far, slashing .263/.311/.454 with seven homers, 20 RBI, 21 runs and an 11:41 BB:K in 164 plate appearances.

  • Alec Burleson LF | STL

Cardinals' Alec Burleson: Homers as part of three-hit night

Burleson went 3-for-5 with a solo home run and two RBI in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Mets.

Burleson cranked his third home run of the year in the sixth inning off Cole Sulser and also drove in a run on a base hit in the first. He notched his first three-hit effort of the campaign and his fifth multi-hit performance. The 25-year-old is slashing .262/.303/.393 with 12 RBI, five runs and a 5:18 BB:K in 89 plate appearances and is firmly in a platoon against right-handed pitching.

  • Jorge Soler RF | LAA

Giants' Jorge Soler: Sitting again Tuesday

Soler (shoulder) isn't in the Giants' lineup for Tuesday's game against Colorado, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Although Soler's shoulder injury has now kept him out of the lineup for three consecutive games, the Giants have not said anything that would suggest a future move to the IL for the 32-year-old slugger. His absence Tuesday will allow Wilmer Flores to serve as the designated hitter and bat fifth.

  • Matt Carpenter DH | STL

Cardinals' Matt Carpenter: Could remain out until next week

Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol said Tuesday that Carpenter's (oblique) rehab assignment with Triple-A Memphis could be extended through the weekend, John Denton of MLB.com reports.

Carpenter had a couple potential rehab games with Double-A Springfield rained out, so the team would like to see him make up for that lost time. Barring a setback, Carpenter could be activated from the 10-day injured list early next week, when the Cardinals are on the road playing the Angels.

  • Luis Arraez 2B | SD

    Padres' Luis Arraez: Idle Tuesday

Arraez is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against Chicago.

After starting and batting leadoff in each of his first three appearances with the Padres, Arraez will get the day off Tuesday. While it's possible Arraez will cede work against lefties -- the Padres are facing southpaw Shota Imanaga on Tuesday -- Arraez was part of the team's lineup Monday against Justin Steele, who's also left-handed. Manny Machado will DH on Tuesday while Donovan Solano starts at third base.

  • Nick Martini LF | CIN

Reds' Nick Martini: Optioned to Triple-A

The Reds optioned Martini to Triple-A Louisville on Tuesday.

Martini was the Reds' Opening Day designated hitter and hit two home runs that day, but he slashed only .160/.185/.240 in 28 games after that. The 33-year-old had already seen his playing time dwindle, and it was going to further evaporate with TJ Friedl off the injured list.
