Moises Ballesteros C | CHC
Cubs' Moises Ballesteros: Expected to be sent back to minors
The Cubs will option Ballesteros to Triple-A Iowa prior to Tuesday's game in Miami, Daniel Alvarez-Montes of ElExtraBase.com reports.
It's expected to be the corresponding move for Ian Happ's (oblique) return from the 10-day injured list. With Happ back in the fold and Seiya Suzuki returning to the designated-hitter spot, Ballesteros' playing time would have been cut dramatically. Instead, he will head back to Iowa, where he can play regularly. The rookie went 3-for-16 with three RBI and a 1:2 K:BB over five games during his first stint in the big leagues.

Kyle Schwarber LF | PHI
Phillies' Kyle Schwarber: Launches 300th career homer
Schwarber went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk in a 9-3 win against Colorado on Monday.
The 300th regular-season home run of Schwarber's career wasn't a cheapie -- he pounded a 466-foot rocket to right field in the ninth inning. The slugger became the 11th active player with 300 or more home runs and pushed his season total to 16, second-most in the majors. Schwarber's career high for long balls in a campaign is 47 (set in 2023), and he's on pace to challenge that mark so far this year.

Josh Bell DH | MIN
Nationals' Josh Bell: Goes yard in Sunday's win
Bell went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's win over the Orioles.
The veteran slugger took Bryan Baker deep in the eighth inning, the last of five Nats long balls in a 10-4 rout. Bell has six homers and 15 RBI in 40 contests, but he's mostly had a miserable start to the season in his return to Washington -- incredibly, he has yet to collect multiple hits in the same game, leading to a .156/.242/.305 slash line.

Marcell Ozuna DH | ATL
Braves' Marcell Ozuna: Homers again in win
Ozuna went 2-for-4 with a home run, a walk, three RBI and two runs scored in Sunday's 10-4 win over the Red Sox.
Ozuna drove in a run on a single in the third inning and crushed a 430-foot two-run homer in the eighth. The long ball was his second in as many days, and the 34-year-old has produced five extra-base hits and nine RBI over his past 10 contests. On the year, he's slashing .267/.420/.467 with eight home runs, 22 RBI and 22 runs scored across 193 plate appearances.

Pavin Smith RF | ARI
Diamondbacks' Pavin Smith: Emerges from slump
Smith went 2-for-6 with a double, an RBI and a run scored in Saturday's 14-12 loss to Colorado.
Smith has been on a roll the last week, going 10-for-25 (.400) with three doubles, two RBI and three runs scored over the last seven contests. It's an encouraging sign for Arizona's DH against right-handers, who endured a 13-game stretch during which he batted .065 (2-for-31) prior to his recent upswing.

Gavin Sheets RF | SD
Padres' Gavin Sheets: Supplies lone run in loss
Sheets went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 4-1 loss to the Mariners.
Sheets has hit well in May, going 16-for-47 (.340) over 13 contests this month. He opened the scoring Saturday with a solo shot off Emerson Hancock in the fourth inning. Sheets is up to six homers, 23 RBI, 17 runs scored, one stolen base and a .290/.343/.481 slash line over 41 games. He continues to share designated hitter and first base with Luis Arraez, with most of Sheets' off days coming versus left-handed pitchers.

Marcell Ozuna DH | ATL
Braves' Marcell Ozuna: Goes deep in loss
Ozuna went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, an additional run and two walks in Saturday's loss to the Red Sox.
Ozuna entered Saturday having gone hitless over his past two games, but he snapped that stretch with a 417-foot solo homer in the first frame. The veteran DH added two walks and has now drawn an MLB-high 39 free passes this season. Ozuna's batting average is down a bit at .260 so far this season, but his OBP sits at .415 -- which is on pace for the second-highest mark of his career.

Shohei Ohtani DH | LAD
Dodgers' Shohei Ohtani: Completes another bullpen session
Ohtani (elbow) threw an up-down bullpen session Saturday that totaled 50 pitches, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.
Ohtani split his work evenly between two simulated innings, with this session marking the most pitches he's thrown as he continues to work his way back from Tommy John surgery. The right-hander hasn't yet progressed to throwing breaking pitches, but he could begin to face hitters soon. Offensively, the two-way star continues to provide one of the most productive bats in the sport with a .305/.404/.667 slash line, 16 homers and 10 steals through 44 games.

Wilmer Flores 1B | SF
Giants' Wilmer Flores: Career-best game in win
Flores went 3-for-5 with three home runs and eight RBI in Friday's 9-1 win over the Athletics.
Flores set career highs with three homers and eight RBI in a single game. He took three different pitchers deep, including a grand slam off Athletics starter JP Sears in the third inning to open the scoring. With the monster game, Flores is back in a tie with Aaron Judge for first in the majors with 41 RBI. He's added 10 homers, 23 runs scored, a stolen base and two doubles while slashing .266/.318/.468 over 44 contests. Flores has carved out a near-everyday role between first base and designated hitter, though he'll occasionally sit against a right-handed pitcher.

Shohei Ohtani DH | LAD
Dodgers' Shohei Ohtani: Takes major-league lead in homers
Ohtani went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Friday's 6-2 loss to the Angels.
Ohtani has four homers and eight RBI over his last three games. That power surge, part of a larger binge of nine long balls and 19 RBI across 14 games in May, has helped him take over the major-league lead in homers at 16. He's added a .316 batting average, 1.106 OPS, 29 RBI, 49 runs scored and 10 stolen bases over 43 contests. Simply put, Ohtani continues to make the remarkable look routine.
