Choi isn't in the lineup Thursday against the Orioles.

Choi will get a day off with southpaw John Means taking the mound for the Orioles on Thursday. Mike Brosseau will take over at first base.

Dickerson is not starting Game 1 of Thursday's doubleheader against the Dodgers.

Dickerson will stick on the bench for a second straight game with the Dodgers deploying another left-hander in Clayton Kershaw. Darin Ruf is once again starting in left field in his place.

Blue Jays general manager Ross Atkins said Vogelbach will be activated ahead of Thursday's game against the Red Sox, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.

Toronto acquired Vogelbach from the Mariners on Sunday, but the first baseman/designated hitter had been stuck in limbo for the past few days while he waited to complete the COVID-19 intake testing process. Now that Vogelbach has cleared all health-related protocols, he'll provide the Blue Jays with a left-handed power bat off the bench. Vogelbach is somewhat redundant with another lefty-hitting, first base/DH type in Rowdy Tellez already on the roster, so the former could be a store for a limited role initially.

Blackmon went 1-for-4 with a grand slam and a walk in Wednesday's win over the Diamondbacks.

Blackmon essentially put the game out of reach for the Rockies with a grand slam in the top of the eighth that made it 8-1 for Colorado and, although Arizona came just one run away from forcing extra innings, the Rockies came through and got the win. This was Blackmon's fourth homer of the season and first one since Aug. 7. The star centerfielder, who hovered around the .400 mark earlier this season, has slowed down of late and is "only" hitting .289 with a .767 OPS in his last 10 games.

Jimenez went 2-for-3 with a three-run homer, an additional run scored and a walk during Wednesday's 10-3 win over the Pirates.

The 23-year-old twisted his ankle while celebrating Lucas Giolito's no-hitter Tuesday, but he returned to action with no issues Wednesday. Jimenez now has a seven-game hit streak in which he is 13-for-28 with three home runs, three doubles, six runs and seven RBI.

Cabrera went 3-for-4 with a walk, an RBI and a run scored in Wednesday's 7-6 win over the Cubs.

The veteran is still batting just .219 this season but he's now riding a four-game hitting streak. In those contests, Cabrera has gone 7-for-14. He won't hit for the power he did earlier in his career, but the 37-year-old did hit .282 in 2019, so he's still capable of getting on base at a decent rate.

Carpenter will bat sixth and start at third base Wednesday against the Royals, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

Carpenter was originally set to be on the bench, but he'll join the starting nine with Dexter Fowler sitting out the game in protest of the recent police shooting of Jacob Blake.

Carpenter has started 13 consecutive games for the Cardinals, going 9-for-41 with one home run, 10 RBI and a 7:15 BB:K during that span. Brad Miller is serving as the DH and hitting cleanup in place of Carpenter on Wednesday.

Jimenez (ankle) will start in left field and will bat fifth Wednesday against the Pirates.

Jimenez enjoyed another productive showing the dish in Tuesday's 4-0 win (2-for-4 with a double and an RBI), but the twisted ankle he suffered while celebrating teammate Lucas Giolito's no-hitter after the game cast some doubt on his availability for the remainder of the series. After being checked out by the White Sox's training staff early Wednesday, Jimenez looks to have avoid a significant injury, as he'll be cleared to make a 17th straight start in left field. Assuming he makes it out of Wednesday's came no worse for the wear, Jimenez will get some much-needed time to rest Thursday, when the White Sox have an open date in their schedule.
