Reed was optioned to Triple-A Fresno on Monday.

Reed appeared in just one game, going 0-for-3 Friday against the Rays. He's hit a solid .266/.379/.536 for Fresno this season. Joe Smith (elbow) was reinstated from the 10-day disabled list in a corresponding move.

Goins was outrighted to Triple-A Omaha on Monday after passing through waivers unclaimed.

As a 30-year-old with a career .228/.274/.333 batting line in the majors, Goins unsurprisingly failed to attract interest from other teams after the Royals dropped him from their 40-man roster last week. He'll now head to Omaha and await another opportunity with Kansas City, which may not come if the Royals' infielders enjoy relatively sound health the rest of the season.

Cespedes (hip) was able to resume a running progression Tuesday, Matt Ehalt of The Record reports.

Manager Mickey Callaway added that Cespedes is no longer feeling any soreness in the hip/quadriceps area, and that Tuesday's running "went really well," even though he was only going at 75 percent during a series of 60-yard sprints. The outfielder is expected to continue his progression over the next couple weeks while sprinkling in baseball activities once he's cleared to do so.

Miller went 3-for-5 with two RBI and two runs in Monday's victory over the Twins.

Miller made his presence felt Monday, most notably by taking a four-pitch walk with the bases loaded in the 10th inning to secure a walk-off victory for his club. Miller started the last five games and has injected some life into the Brewers' offense -- albeit in a small sample size -- posting a .941 OPS over 33 plate appearances since joining the club. He figures to continue starting frequently against right-handers as long as he continues to produce at the plate.

Jimenez will miss two weeks with a strained left adductor, James Fegan of The Athletic Chicago reports.

The news certainly could have been worse for Jimenez, as he'll end up needing only a short time on the shelf, barring setbacks. He's sitting on the doorstep of the majors, having recently been promoted to Triple-A Charlotte, and has a chance to get called up later this season, though the White Sox can get an extra year of team control if they wait until mid-April next year, so these two weeks of lost development time are unlikely to be a major factor in his timeline.

Cabrera (biceps) will be transferred to the 60-day disabled list Tuesday.

The move has no effect on Cabrera's timetable, as he's already been ruled out for the remainder of the year after undergoing surgery to repair his biceps tendon. It opens up a spot for the Tigers to select the contract of Jim Adduci from Triple-A Toledo.

Buxton (toe) was activated from the disabled list and optioned to Triple-A Rochester on Monday.

It's been a rough year for Buxton, who has missed time with migraines and a fractured toe. He's been poor when healthy, hitting just .156/.183/.200 in 28 games. He hadn't done enough on his rehab assignment (hitting just .214/.267/.333) to prove that he should be back in the big leagues, so he'll now be stuck in the minors until he gets his rhythm back.

Martinez will get a rare day off Monday against the Nationals.

As expected, Martinez will miss at least one game while Boston plays in a National League park. He's likely to make a pair of starts in the outfield Tuesday and Wednesday, with Andrew Benintendi and Jackie Bradley expected to get days off.

Martinez will play the outfield in two of the three games the Red Sox are playing in Washington against the Nationals, Bill Koch of the Providence Journal reports.

Playing in a National League city, the Red Sox are without the luxury of using a designated hitter, the role in which Martinez served during all three games against the Yankees over the weekend. Manager Alex Cora will juggle his outfield for the series in Washington, as both Andrew Benintendi and Jackie Bradley will also sit one of the three games.

Pederson went 3-for-4 with a double in Sunday's 6-4 win over Colorado.

Pederson's three-hit day upped his slash line to .268/.348/.548 through 76 games. The 26-year-old had been receiving sporadic playing time over the first half of the season, but that is about to change following Sunday's announcement of a lineup shuffle. Manager Dave Roberts named Max Muncy the club's primary second baseman against right-handed starters, which will allow Cody Bellinger to move back to first base and open up center field to Pederson. The young slugger will still cede starts to Enrique Hernandez and Bellinger against southpaws, but this development gives Pederson a clear path to semi-regular playing time.
