Pederson came off the bench and went 1-for-1 with an RBI and a stolen base in Sunday's loss to the Giants.

Pederson entered the contest once the left-handed Ty Blach was removed from the game. Yasiel Puig (ankle) was placed on the 10-day disabled list Sunday, so Pederson could see an increase in playing time against right-handed starters. Alex Verdugo was called up this weekend, which could provide a roadblock to regular starts for the slugging outfielder. Monday's starting lineup should shed light on which of the two left-handed bats will receive the short boost in value, with the Diamondbacks slated to start three righties in the first three games of their upcoming four-game set with the Dodgers.

Buxton (toe) was able to do some light running in the outfield Sunday, Phil Miller of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

The Twins allowed Buxton to perform the activity in order to gauge his level of pain tolerance for the hairline fracture in his left toe, an injury team doctors didn't believe would be worsened by light running. Manager Paul Molitor indicated that Buxton would go through some other drills over the next couple of days in order for the Twins to have a better idea regarding a potential return date for the outfielder before the team begins its four-game series in Chicago against the White Sox on Thursday. Until Buxton is cleared to return, Max Kepler looks on track to serve as the Twins' primary center fielder.

Ohtani (ankle) will likely serve as the Angels' designated hitter Tuesday against the Orioles and will make his next pitching start during the series against the Mariners from May 4 to May 6, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Ohtani's injured ankle is reportedly progressing well, but the Angels will not rush him back to the mound before he is fully ready. Manager Mike Scioscia expects him to be in the lineup for Tuesday's series opener against the Orioles, but he'll have his scheduled start pushed back at least three days into the team's three-game weekend series in Seattle. Nick Tropeano will now pitch Tuesday with Andrew Heaney being moved up to Wednesday.

Belt went 1-for-2 with a pair of walks, a run scored and an RBI in Sunday's win over the Dodgers.

Belt has been swinging a hot bat all year, and he's now reached base safely in 12 straight. The lefty sports a terrific 1.011 OPS to go along with a .313 average, and his six homers already have him well on his way to topping last year's career-best 18.

Cespedes believes he'll miss three days due to his left thumb injury, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

Cespedes didn't seem too concerned about his injury after X-rays on his thumb came back negative Sunday, but he did estimate that he'd have to sit out a few days. It's unclear if he was referring to missing three games or simply missing three days, but the Mets are off Monday, so he could return Thursday if his initial estimates are correct. Consider him a true day-to-day case, though the results of his Monday MRI should shed more light on his situation.

Martinez went 4-for-4 with a run scored and two RBI in Sunday's victory over the Rays.

Martinez shook off Saturday's three-strikeout, 0-for-4 performance with a terrific outing Sunday. Martinez has been excellent so far this season and is slashing .330/.374/.567 after 25 games. He also has 22 RBI, a mark that figures to climb as he continues hitting in Boston's potent lineup.

Cespedes was diagnosed with a sore left thumb after leaving Sunday's game against the Padres, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

The Mets didn't give any indication that Cespedes suffered a serious injury, so consider him day-to-day for now. However, due to his history with injuries, Cespedes could be withheld from the lineup for a day or two as a precautionary measure. X-rays on his thumb came back negative, but he'll undergo further testing in New York on Monday, Tim Healey of Newsday reports. If he has to miss time, expect Juan Lagares or Brandon Nimmo to start in left field.

Ohtani (ankle) may throw a bullpen session Monday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

If Ohtani ends up throwing a bullpen session Monday and is able to do so without any issues, the Angels could start him Wednesday against the Orioles. Fortunately, there is no concern that Ohtani will land on the disabled list at this point in time. However, in an effort to protect the 23-year-old's ankle, the Angels don't plan on using him at designated hitter until they're certain he's in full health. More information regarding his availability should be known soon.

Cespedes left Sunday's game against the Padres in the third inning with an apparent hand injury, James Wagner of The New York Times reports.

Cespedes seemed to hurt his hand while sliding into third base. Prior to exiting the game, he'd gone 2-for-2 with a double and two runs scored. Additional information regarding the severity of his injury should be available in the near future. Upon his departure, Brandon Nimmo entered the game to play left field.

Cabrera received treatment for biceps spasms Sunday, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Cabrera said that he was feeling much better after receiving treatment for the injury that forced him to leave Sunday's game against the Orioles early. Consider him day-to-day for now, although it looks like the 35-year-old will likely be able to avoid an extended absence.
