Miguel Cabrera leaves with injury
Tigers third baseman Miguel Cabrera had to leave Monday's game against Chicago in the fifth inning due to an injury, the nature of which was not immediately known, MLive.com reports.
Cabrera has been battling a balky back near his left hip for a while and the injury could be related to that. He winced after scoring in the top of the fifth inning and barely moved on an Adam Dunn hit in the bottom of the inning before walking off the field one out later.
Cabrera is hitting .358 with 31 home runs and 96 RBI for the Tigers. -

Two days after homering and driving in five runs, Mariners shortstop Brad Miller had another standout performance during Sunday's 12-5 win at Houston. The rookie went 2 for 5 with one walk, one run and two RBI.
Miller is batting .318 (14 for 44) with two home runs, three doubles, eight runs and 13 RBI in his last 10 games. His batting average has soared from .200 to .270 in that span. He is also slugging .523 with a .910 OPS in his last 10 games.

Giancarlo Stanton looking for 'boost' in Colorado
Marlins outfielder Giancarlo Stanton can't wait for his team to open a four-game series at Colorado Monday. Not only because the Marlins were shutout in all three games over the weekend against the Brewers, but because Stanton's power numbers could use a lift.
"Colorado always gives you a little boost the way the ball flies," he said, per The Miami Herald.
Stanton has homered 10 times in 54 games and is slugging .433. He has homered in six of seven career games at Coors Field. Stanton is batting .360 (9 for 25) with six home runs, 10 RBI and a 1.120 slugging percentage in his career at Colorado.
"It really hasn’t been there all year," Stanton said of his swing. "I’m not getting it done."
