Justin Turner DH | CHC
Blue Jays' Justin Turner: Not in Monday's lineup

Manny Machado 3B | SD
Padres' Manny Machado: Returning to lineup Monday
Padres manager Mike Shildt said in an interview on MLB Network Radio on SiriusXM that Machado (hip) will be back in the lineup Monday versus the Athletics as the team's designated hitter.
Machado was held out of the lineup for the previous four games due to a strained right hip flexor, although he was able to pinch hit once over that stretch. He will be eased back into the mix Monday as the club's DH, with a return to third base coming "hopefully sooner than later," per Shildt.

Masataka Yoshida LF | BOS
Red Sox's Masataka Yoshida: Plays second rehab game
Yoshida (thumb) was the designated hitter for Triple-A Worcester on Sunday and went 0-for-3 with a walk and a run scored.
Yoshida served as Worcester's DH on back-to-back days to kick off a rehab assignment. Getting him time in the field is not as important as the plate appearances, as Yoshida is expected to be Boston's primary DH. He'll meet with the team's decision-makers Monday to evaluate his progression, per Julian McWilliams of The Boston Globe. The club hopes he can be activated later this week.

Alec Burleson LF | STL
Cardinals' Alec Burleson: Homers in Sunday's win
Burleson went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 5-1 win over the Rockies.
Burleson is up to nine homers this year, four of which he's hit over nine contests in June. He's batting .237 (9-for-38) this month, but that slight drop in hitting has yet to cost him the everyday role he earned with a strong May. The outfielder is slashing .273/.305/.448 with 24 RBI, 20 runs scored, two stolen bases and seven doubles over 203 plate appearances on the year, and he's routinely batted second in the order over the last week.

Wyatt Langford OF | TEX
Rangers' Wyatt Langford: Triples, drives in two
Langford went 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBI during Sunday's win over the Giants.
Langford recorded his fourth multi-hit game in the last nine while collecting his fifth and sixth RBI over that same span. Langford is starting to show some positive signs after a slow start to the season, lifting his average to .234 with Sunday's effort and hitting .286 with a double and two triples over this most recent nine-game stretch.

Manny Machado 3B | SD
Padres' Manny Machado: Absence continuing Sunday
Machado (hip) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game versus the Diamondbacks, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
Machado continues to nurse a strained right hip flexor and will sit Sunday for the fourth straight game. The 31-year-old appeared as a pinch hitter in the first of those absences Thursday but otherwise hasn't seen game action since he suffered the injury Wednesday. Donovan Solano is receiving another start at the hot corner in the series finale against Arizona.
-
Jorge Soler DH | LAA
Giants' Jorge Soler: Taking seat Sunday
Soler is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rangers, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.
Soler started the previous six games and will head to the bench Sunday after he posted a .667 OPS during that stretch. Wilmer Flores will serve as the designated hitter while Trenton Brooks starts at first base.

Nelson Velazquez RF | STL
Royals' Nelson Velazquez: Out of lineup Sunday
Velazquez is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's series finale against the Mariners.
Velazquez will get a breather Sunday after going 1-for-7 with two RBI and two walks over the first two games of the series. Salvador Perez will serve as the designated hitter Sunday, while Freddy Fermin starts behind home plate.

Masataka Yoshida LF | BOS
Red Sox's Masataka Yoshida: Begins rehab assignment
Yoshida (thumb) started as the designated hitter and went 1-for-4 with a run scored in a rehab game for Triple-A Worcester on Saturday.
Yoshida played the first of two rehab games as the DH for Worcester and said that he felt no pain coming out of either contest, Julian McWilliams of The Boston Globe reports. He'll serve as Worcester's DH again Sunday, and the Red Sox hope to have him back from the 10-day injured list by the end of the week.

Matt Carpenter DH | STL
Cardinals' Matt Carpenter: Clubs homer in loss
Carpenter went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, a walk and two total runs scored in Saturday's 6-5 loss to the Rockies.
Carpenter got the Cardinals back within a run with his seventh-inning blast, but they couldn't build on it. Both of his homers this season have come over his last nine games. The designated hitter is at a .200/.294/.317 slash line with five RBI, six runs scored, one double and no stolen bases through 68 plate appearances. Carpenter has seen steadier playing time at designated hitter with Alec Burleson filling in as an outfielder due to the absence of Lars Nootbaar (oblique).
