Giancarlo Stanton DH | NYY
Yankees' Giancarlo Stanton: Out again with Judge back
Stanton is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rangers.
With a .970 OPS since the All-Star break, Stanton has been one of the Yankees' hottest hitters over the past two and a half weeks, but he looks like he'll have to settle for more of a part-time role for the foreseeable future. Aaron Judge returned from the injured list Tuesday but will be likely be limited to playing designated hitter for at least the next few weeks while his right flexor strain affects his throwing, and the Yankees won't be looking to bench the two-time AL MVP in favor of Stanton. Instead, the Yankees plan on eventually giving Stanton some exposure to the corner outfield, but the 35-year-old is still waiting to make his 2025 debut on defense. Given his durability concerns, Stanton likely won't be asked to play right or left field on an everyday basis once the Yankees are comfortable deploying him on defense, and the lack of consistent starting opportunities could be enough to make him a drop in many fantasy leagues even while he continues to hit well.

Twins' Trevor Larnach: Out Wednesday with side soreness
The Twins scratched Larnach from the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Tigers due to left side soreness, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.
Larnach had been slated to start in left field and bat seventh, but the Twins pulled him from the lineup about an hour before first pitch. The severity of Larnach's injury isn't yet known, but he'll effectively get two days off to heal up from the side issue, as the Twins are off the schedule Thursday before opening up a series with the Royals on Friday.

Kyle Manzardo 1B | CLE
Guardians' Kyle Manzardo: Sitting against lefty
Manzardo is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Mets.
Manzardo and fellow left-handed hitters Daniel Schneemann, Bo Naylor and Nolan Jones will head to the bench for the second time in the series while the Mets send southpaw David Peterson to the hill for the finale. David Fry will replace Manzardo as the Guardians' designated hitter and will bat cleanup.

Wilmer Flores 1B | SF
Giants' Wilmer Flores: Remains out, hopes to avoid IL
Flores (hamstring) remains out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Pirates, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
For the fifth game in a row, Flores will remain on the bench while he contends with a tight left hamstring, but Slusser relays that the Giants remain hopeful that with the help of an off day Thursday, the veteran first baseman will avoid a trip to the injured list. With Flores sitting out once again, Rafael Devers will serve as the Giants' designated hitter, though Casey Schmitt will replace the left-handed-hitting Dominic Smith at first base while the Pirates send southpaw Andrew Heaney to the hill.

Astros' Yordan Alvarez: Takes batting practice
Alvarez (hand) took batting practice on the field Tuesday, MLB.com reports.
Alvarez is at the team's spring training facility in Florida and continued his hitting progression. His last known activity was hitting off a tee and soft-toss pitches, so Tuesday represented a step forward. Alvarez was last known to be targeting a mid-August return, but the situation remains murky.

Twins' Luke Keaschall: Homers in return

Ryan O'Hearn 1B | PIT
Padres' Ryan O'Hearn: Idle Tuesday
O'Hearn isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Diamondbacks.
O'Hearn will retreat to the bench for a second consecutive game Tuesday, even with right-hander Ryne Nelson set to start on the bump for Arizona. Luis Arraez will start at first base for the Friars while O'Hearn sits, and Manny Machado will serve as the DH with Jose Iglesias at third.

Wilmer Flores 1B | SF
Giants' Wilmer Flores: Remaining on bench Tuesday
Flores (hamstring) is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Pirates, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Flores exited Friday's context due to hamstring tightness and is sitting Tuesday for a fourth straight game. It's not believed to a be a serious injury, but an IL stint could be considered if he misses much more time. Dominic Smith is receiving the start at first base Tuesday while Rafael Devers serves as the designated hitter.

Seiya Suzuki RF | CHC
Cubs' Seiya Suzuki: Receiving rare day off
Suzuki is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Reds.
Suzuki started the previous 86 games for the Cubs, so it's a well-deserved day off for the 30-year-old. He's struggled to a .143/.284/.214 slash line in 16 games since the All-Star break, and he'll take a day to reset Tuesday. Kyle Tucker is receiving a turn at designated hitter while Willi Castro is manning right field.
