Holmes struck out two over 1.2 perfect innings to pick up the save in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Mariners.

Holmes took the ball from Gerrit Cole after Cole got the first out in the eighth, and Holmes shut the Mariners down without issue. He picked up his fifth save this month, though Tuesday was his first appearance since June 13. Holmes has now pitched 8.2 scoreless frames dating back to May 31 and has struck out multiple hitters in five of eight appearances since then. The 30-year-old owns a 2.35 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 38:13 K:BB across 30.2 innings on the year.

May (1-4) took the extra-inning loss against the Guardians on Tuesday, allowing an unearned run on a hit and a walk without retiring a batter.

Entrusted with preserving a 2-2 tie when he entered in the 10th inning, May issued an intentional walk to Josh Naylor to open his appearance and ultimately surrendered a game-winning RBI single to Andres Gimenez. The veteran right-hander had gone into Tuesday with eight scoreless efforts in his previous nine outings, and despite the hiccup versus Cleveland, he's still generated a solid 3.18 ERA and three saves over the 11.1 innings he's logged across 12 appearances since being activated from the injured list May 23.

White was promoted to Triple-A Round Rock on Tuesday, Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News reports.

White was called up to Texas last week and pitched two relief innings when the Rangers cobbled together a bullpen night after scheduled starter Jon Gray was scratched due to a blister. He was subsequently optioned back to Double-A Frisco and made one start before earning a promotion to Round Rock. White had a 3.51 ERA over 56.1 innings this season for the RoughRiders and has thrown 78 innings overall at the Double-A level. He's expected to make his debut for the Express this weekend.

Graveman picked up the save in Tuesday's 7-6 victory over the Rangers. He didn't record a strikeout in one perfect inning.

Graveman earned his first save since June 8, retiring three straight batters to record a clean ninth frame. Outside of a blown save on June 11 against Miami, Graveman hasn't allowed a single run over his last 20 appearances. He's expected to split closing duties with Joe Kelly while Liam Hendriks (elbow) sits on the 15-day injured list.

Pressly earned his 13th save of the season with a scoreless ninth inning in Tuesday's 4-2 win against the Mets. He struck out one, walked one and did not allow a hit.

The 33-year-old hasn't been reliable of late, as he came into Tuesday with eight runs allowed (four earned) and three blown saves in his past eight outings. However, he worked through the heart of New York's lineup Tuesday with no major issues. Pressly is 13-for-16 in save chances this year and has a 3.26 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 32:7 K:BB in 30.1 innings.

Mayers accepted his outright assignment to Triple-A Omaha on Tuesday.

Mayers cleared waivers after being designated for assignment by Kansas City on Sunday. The right-hander had the option to elect free agency, but he'll stay in the Royals' organization instead. In order for him to pitch at the big-league level, Kansas City will have to place him back on the 40-man roster.

Barlow picked up the save in Tuesday's 1-0 win over Detroit. He allowed a hit while logging a strikeout in a scoreless inning.

Barlow improved to 8-for-9 in save chances, finishing out Kansas City's shutout victory. The 30-year-old Barlow had been shaky of late, allowing three runs over his last three appearances (2.2 innings). He now sports a 4.05 ERA with a 1.28 WHIP and 37:13 K:BB over 26.2 innings this season. Barlow is still the primary closing option in Kansas City, though save chances have been rare on a last-place Royals team.

Krook was optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre by the Yankees on Tuesday, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

Krook was sent down to make room for Jhony Brito with Brito coming up from Triple-A on Wednesday to start against the Mariners. Krook made just one appearance while up with the Yankees, and he allowed five runs in 1.2 innings in that game against the Red Sox on Friday.

Clarke (1-1) allowed three runs on two hits and a walk while striking out one over one inning to take the loss and a blown save Monday versus the Tigers.

Clarke pitched 16 consecutive scoreless innings from May 3 to June 12, but he appears to have hit a rough patch. He's given up four runs, including two home runs, over his last two outings to put an abrupt end to the strong stretch. The right-hander has seen some high-leverage work for the Royals with eight holds through 29 appearances, and he's added a respectable 3.66 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 36:12 K:BB over 32 innings.

Romano allowed one hit in a scoreless ninth inning to earn the save in Tuesday's 2-0 victory over Miami. He did not strike out or walk a batter.

The right-hander gave up a two-out double to Bryan De La Cruz but otherwise had no issues closing out the Marlins. Romano has converted his past 11 save chances and has a 1.59 ERA and 13:2 K:BB across 11.1 innings during that span. He's 21-for-24 in save opportunities this year and is tied with Emmanuel Clase atop the league in that category.
