Thielbar (oblique) was not activated from the 15-day injured list Saturday as the Twins want to make sure he's fully healthy, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. "It had been awhile since he had thrown, so we want to give him a couple of days," Twins bench coach Jayce Tingler said.

Thielbar made two appearances at Triple-A and was expected to be activated from the injured list Friday. It's not clear how long the Twins will wait to activate him from the injured list, but it doesn't appear he's had any kind of setback.

Criswell was returned to Triple-A following Saturday's doubleheader against the Red Sox.

Criswell was appointed the 27th man for the twin bill against the Red Sox, but he'll head back to Durham to provide pitching depth in the minors.

Soriano worked a scoreless inning against the Astros on Saturday, allowing one walk and striking out one batter.

Soriano earned his first call-up to the majors after posting a 4.24 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 31:16 K:BB over 23.1 innings at Double-A this season. The right-hander faced a challenge against the heart of Houston's lineup in his debut outing, but he worked around a one-out walk to Alex Bregman to fire a scoreless frame. Soriano has the strikeout stuff -- including a high-90-s fastball -- to eventually work as a high-leverage reliever, but he's unlikely to see many such opportunities in his initial stint in the majors.

Rodriguez is currently being evaluated for a biceps injury he suffered while warming up for Saturday's game against the Rays, Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald reports.

Rodriguez was preparing to enter the second game of a doubleheader against the Rays before feeling "something" in his left biceps. The left-hander should be considered day-to-day with a status report likely to come before Sunday's series finale against Tampa Bay.

Orioles manager Brandon Hyde told reporters Saturday that Coulombe (personal) should return for Baltimore's series against the Brewers starting Tuesday, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports.

Hyde was placed on the bereavement list prior to Saturday's game against the Giants in San Francisco. The reliever should be back on the mound early next week with Josh Lester taking Coulombe's place on the roster in the meantime.

Blanco is scheduled to make his second MLB start Wednesday in Toronto.

After working as a reliever in his first 16 career big-league appearances, Blanco was summoned from Triple-A Sugar Land on Thursday to join the Houston rotation. The 29-year-old right-hander came away with a win in his start against the Angels, striking out five while giving up two earned runs on seven hits and three walks over 5.1 innings. While the Astros are in the midst of a stretch of 17 games in 17 days, Blanco will be part of a six-man rotation, but he could be headed back to Sugar Land after Wednesday's outing since Houston is likely to transition back to a five-man rotation the following week.

The Orioles transferred Tate (forearm) to the 60-day injured list Saturday.

Tate has been on the injured list since Opening Day, so a move to the 60-day IL doesn't impact his return date. His spot on the 40-man roster will be filled by Josh Lester, who was selected to the big-league squad from Triple-A Norfolk on Saturday.

The Orioles placed Coulombe on the bereavement list Saturday.

Coulombe will be out 3-to-7 days as he tends to a personal matter. Josh Lester was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk to fill Coulombe's roster spot.

La Sorsa was designated for assignment by the Rays on Saturday.

La Sorsa allowed one run on three hits in 2.1 innings of relief in the first half of Saturday's doubleheader against the Red Sox. That was the first run he gave up in 4.1 innings at the big-league level this season. The long-relief effort means he won't be ready to pitch again for a few days, so he'll be the one to lose his roster spot as the Rays bring in fresh arms for the nightcap.

The Yankees recalled Ramirez from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Saturday.

With Ryan Weber (forearm) headed for the injured list, Ramirez will return to the Yankees' bullpen in his place. The 33-year-old lefty holds a 2.00 ERA and 1.33 WHIP through nine big-league innings this season, but his 5:4 K:BB ratio makes it unlikely he sees many high-leverage situations.
