Emmanuel Clase RP | CLE
Guardians' Emmanuel Clase: Locks down save Friday
Clase allowed one hit in a scoreless inning to earn a save over Boston on Friday.
After a leadoff double by Jarren Duran, Clase retired the next three batters to close out the 5-2 win. The right-hander has now converted eight consecutive save chances, making him 9-for-10 on the year. He's riding a seven-inning scoreless streak, lowering his season ERA to 1.93 alongside an 8:4 K:BB.

Will Smith RP | KC
Rangers' Will Smith: Locks up third save
Smith picked up the save in Friday's 5-2 victory over the Yankees. He didn't allow a run, hit or walk while striking out one over one inning.
Smith needed just eight pitches to retire the side in the ninth inning. The lefty has a team-high three saves on the season, as Smith splits closer duties with Jose Leclerc. Both pitchers have been excellent -- Leclerc has a 0.93 ERA, while Smith's is down to 1.93.

Calvin Faucher RP | MIA
Rays' Calvin Faucher: Opening for Chirinos on Saturday
Faucher will serve as the opener for Saturday's game against the White Sox, Ryan Bass of Bally Sports Sun reports.
Faucher will work the first inning or two before Yonny Chirinos takes over as the bulk reliever. Because he won't last long enough to qualify for a win, Faucher shouldn't be considered as a fantasy streaming option even as the nominal starter.

Chris Devenski RP | NYM
Angels' Chris Devenski: Joining bullpen Saturday
Devenski will be called up from Triple-A Salt Lake prior to Saturday's game against the Brewers, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
Devenski will take the place of Jose Quijada (elbow), who is heading to the injured list. In seven appearances in the Pacific Coast League, Devenski has registered a 4.00 ERA with a 9:3 K:BB. He'll likely operate in a low-leverage role while with the team.

Jose Quijada RP | LAA
Angels' Jose Quijada: Placed on IL with elbow issue
Quijada was placed on the 15-day injured list by the Angels on Friday with left elbow soreness.
Quijada told reporters that he felt sore when he woke up Friday. The left-hander also said he's undergone an MRI, but the results haven't been presented yet. The Angels will call up Chris Devenski to take Quijada's place in the bullpen before Saturday's game against the Brewers.

Pete Fairbanks RP | MIA
Rays' Pete Fairbanks: Removed with injury
Fairbanks was removed from Friday's game against the White Sox with a hand injury, Ryan Bass of Bally Sports Sun reports. He recorded two outs without allowing a run with a walk and a strikeout before exiting.
Fairbanks told reporters that he felt numbness in his fingers before exiting, and it's worth pointing out that the right-hander dealt with Raynaud's syndrome -- something that can cause fingers to feel numb in cold weather -- in the past. Fairbanks believes he can pitch again in this series, but his status should be considered day-to-day until updated otherwise.

Jorge Lopez RP | WAS
Twins' Jorge Lopez: Escapes with save
Lopez allowed two hits in a scoreless inning to earn a save against Kansas City on Friday. He struck out one and hit one batter.
Lopez loaded the bases with two outs but worked through the danger to finish off the 8-6 win. He has yet to give up an earned run or a walk through 11.2 innings this season. Lopez has converted both of his save chances while going 1-0 with five holds. Jhoan Duran (personal) was not available Friday.

A.J. Alexy RP | MIN
White Sox's A.J. Alexy: Sent outright to Triple-A
Alexy was sent outright to Triple-A Charlotte on Friday, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.
Alexy is now off the 40-man roster. The right-hander has struggled mightily in four appearances with Charlotte in 2023 with a 15.30 ERA and ugly 10:18 K:BB over 10 innings of work. He'll provide organizational depth as long as he remains a member of the organization.

Jonathan Loaisiga RP | ARI
Yankees' Jonathan Loaisiga: Undergoing testing on elbow
Yankees manager Aaron Boone told reporters that Loaisiga will undergo testing after experiencing soreness in his right elbow, Greg Joyce of the New York Post reports.
Loaisiga felt renewed soreness after throwing Wednesday, and the Yankees will send the right-hander for testing to see if there's any structural damage. He's been on the injured list since April 6 with inflammation in his elbow, and he'll likely be out for a few weeks even if the tests reveal no serious issues.

Chad Smith RP | NYM
Athletics' Chad Smith: Optioned to Triple-A
The Athletics optioned Smith to Triple-A Las Vegas on Friday.
With Drew Rucinski (hamstring) returning from the injured list Friday, Smith will serve as the roster casualty for the A's. The 27-year-old reliever holds a 6.30 ERA and 1.60 WHIP through 10 innings this season, and he will likely need to make some adjustments in the minors before he can rejoin the MLB roster.
