Angels' Victor Mederos: Sent back to Triple-A

The Angels optioned Mederos to Triple-A Salt Lake on Tuesday.

Mederos was recalled Monday but saw no action with the big club before being sent back down Tuesday. In a corresponding move, the Angels recalled Sam Aldegheri from Double-A Rocket City.

  • Alex Lange RP | KC

Tigers' Alex Lange: Pulled off rehab assignment

Lange has been pulled off his rehab assignment due to mild tightness in his surgically repaired right lat, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.

Tigers manager A.J. Hinch said Monday that "it's not a setback" with Lange, but "just a delay." Lange has allowed just one run with a 9:1 K:BB over 6.2 rehab innings and seems close to activation from the 60-day injured list, but now his timeline is up in the air.

  • Clayton Beeter RP | WAS

Yankees' Clayton Beeter: Rejoins big club

The Yankees recalled Beeter from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Tuesday.

The right-hander was optioned to Triple-A on Thursday but is quickly back with the Yankees since Mark Leiter (leg) was placed on the injured list. Beeter allowed three earned runs over 1.2 frames during his lone appearance in the majors this season.

  • Mark Leiter RP | ATH

Yankees' Mark Leiter: Placed on 15-day injured list

The Yankees placed Leiter on the 15-day injured list Tuesday with a left fibular head stress fracture.

Per Max Goodman of NJ.com, Leiter felt a pop in his left leg when he was running to cover first base in a game versus the Reds back on June 24. He had made four appearances since then, but testing revealed the stress fracture. It's not clear how long Leiter might be out, but it's likely to be longer than a minimum stay on the IL.

  • Albert Suarez SP | BAL

Orioles' Albert Suarez: Throwing off mound soon

Suarez (shoulder) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session later this week, Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun reports.

It will be his first time throwing from the bump since going down with a right shoulder strain in late March. Suarez is hoping to contribute to the Orioles at some point after the All-Star break, but he still has numerous boxes to check.

  • Liam Hendriks RP | BOS

Red Sox's Liam Hendriks: Moved to 60-day IL

The Red Sox transferred Hendriks (hip) to the 60-day injured list Tuesday.

According to Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com, Hendriks recently suffered a setback with his right hip injury and is seeking a second opinion. He's been out since late May and now won't be eligible for activation until late July. The move frees a 40-man roster spot for the addition of Isaiah Campbell.

  • Red Sox's Isaiah Campbell: Contract selected

The Red Sox selected Campbell's contract from Triple-A Worcester on Tuesday.

Campbell holds a 3.89 ERA and 33:11 K:BB over 39.1 frames this season with Worcester. The 27-year-old will give Boston a fresh bullpen arm.

  • Ian Seymour P | TB

Rays' Ian Seymour: Back in majors

The Rays recalled Seymour from Triple-A Durham on Tuesday.

Seymour received his first taste of the majors in June and was sent back to Durham after covering two scoreless frames in his big-league debut. The left-hander has a 2.62 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 104:20 K:BB across 86 innings as a starter at Triple-A this season, though he's likely to work out of the bullpen while up with Tampa Bay.

  • Paul Gervase P | LAD

Rays' Paul Gervase: Demoted to Triple-A

The Rays optioned Gervase to Triple-A Durham on Tuesday.

Gervase made five relief appearances during his time on the Rays' active roster, permitting three runs on three solo home runs across 6.1 innings. Tampa Bay recalled Ian Seymour from Triple-A to replace Gervase in the bullpen.

  • Paxton Schultz RP | WAS

Blue Jays' Paxton Schultz: Playing catch

Schultz (finger) has begun playing catch from 60 feet, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.

The righty reliever was shut down in late June due to finger inflammation. Schultz likely won't need a rehab assignment before coming off the IL, giving him a chance to be activated right after the All-Star break, but it's not clear if there will be a spot for him in the big-league bullpen once he's healthy.
