Braydon Fisher P | TOR
Blue Jays' Braydon Fisher: Strikes out side for third hold
Fisher walked one and struck out three in a scoreless seventh inning Monday to record his third hold of the season in a win over the Yankees.
The Blue Jays needed five relievers to complete the final four innings, and Fisher was the most effective of the bunch as the carved up the bottom of New York's order after Toronto took the lead in the bottom of the sixth. Fisher went the entire month of June without allowing a run, delivering a 0.68 WHIP and 19:3 K:BB over 13.1 innings, and two of his three holds have come in the last week as he works his way into a higher-leverage role in the bullpen.

Chad Green RP | TOR
Blue Jays' Chad Green: Collects fifth hold
Green walked one batter in a scoreless two-thirds of an inning to record his fifth hold of the season during Monday's win over the Yankees.
The veteran righty got the final two outs in the eighth inning before handing the ball off to closer Jeff Hoffman for the ninth. It was Green's first hold since May 22 as his exposure to high-leverage spots has been limited, and he wrapped up June with a 4.35 ERA, 1.55 WHIP and 7:4 K:BB over 10.1 innings. With Yimi Garcia (shoulder) set to return this week, Green will likely remain in a middle-relief role rather than being part of Toronto's regular setup crew.

Gregory Santos RP | SEA
Mariners' Gregory Santos: Throwing light bullpen sessions
Mariners general manager Justin Hollander said Monday that Santos (knee) threw three "light bullpens" last week, Circling Seattle Sports reports.
The hope is that Santos can return to the Mariners' bullpen before the end of July, but it's a rough timeline. Santos has been sidelined since late April with right knee inflammation and will need a rehab assignment before being activated from the 60-day injured list.

Alec Marsh RP | KC
Royals' Alec Marsh: Throwing program shut down
Marsh (shoulder) has been shut down from throwing and will be re-evaluated July 9, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.
Marsh has experienced multiple setbacks in his recovery from a right shoulder impingement that emerged at the start of spring training. During his initial rehab attempt in early April, the right-hander appeared in extended spring training games, but in this latest effort, he had not progressed to facing hitters before being shut down again, per manager Matt Quatraro. The 27-year-old has made all 33 career starts since 2023, including 25 starts last season in which he posted a 4.53 ERA and 1.26 WHIP over 129.0 innings. His timeline to return remains uncertain, and even if healthy, Marsh may face an uphill battle to reclaim a spot in the starting rotation.

Jordan Hicks RP | BOS
Red Sox's Jordan Hicks: Makes debut for new team
Hicks struck out one over a scoreless eighth inning in Monday's 13-6 win over the Reds.
Hicks made his debut for the Red Sox after being acquired from San Francisco in the Rafael Devers trade and brought 100-mph heat to the table. Although Hicks entered with Boston ahead by four runs, manager Alex Cora told Christopher Smith of MassLive.com that the plan calls for the newly acquired reliever to pitch in high-leverage spots.

Mason Miller SP | SD
Athletics' Mason Miller: Earns 16th save
Miller picked up the save Monday, allowing just one hit while striking out one over an inning against the Rays.
Miller needed just eight pitches, six of them strikes, to finish off the Rays and earn his 16th save of the season. The 26-year-old's 4.70 ERA isn't pretty, but the closer's strikeout numbers remain among the best of the game. After picking up his 50th strikeout of the season Monday, his K/9 is up to 14.7, the third-best mark in MLB amongst relievers with at least 30 innings pitched.

Fernando Cruz RP | NYY
Yankees' Fernando Cruz: Dealing with severe oblique strain
Manager Aaron Boone said Monday that Cruz (oblique) has a "high grade" strain, Erik Boland of Newsday reports.
"Obviously, that will be some time," Boone added. Cruz was placed on the 15-day injured list Monday after he was injured in the weight room Sunday. Cruz is likely looking at an extended absence. The 35-year-old holds a 3.00 ERA and impressive 54:14 K:BB across 33 innings of relief this season.

Jeff Hoffman RP | TOR
Blue Jays' Jeff Hoffman: Collects 19th save
Hoffman earned the save in Monday's 5-4 victory over the Yankees, allowing one hit and no walks over a scoreless inning with one strikeout.
Hoffman worked around a two-out Jasson Dominguez single to notch his sixth June save. The Toronto closer wrapped the month with an impressive 1.80 ERA, 0.90 WHIP and 13:3 K:BB across 10 frames after entering June with a dreadful 6.04 ERA in 25.1 innings. Hoffman has certainly rediscovered his All-Star form and is cemented as the Blue Jays closer.

Zack Kelly RP | BOS
Red Sox's Zack Kelly: Sent back to Triple-A
The Red Sox optioned Kelly (oblique) to Triple-A Worcester on Monday.
Kelly was pulled from his relief appearance in Sunday's 5-3 loss to the Blue Jays due to right oblique tightness, and though he had been expected to move to the injured list, the Red Sox have instead deactivated him by sending him to the minors. While Kelly is still likely to miss some time as a result of the injury, the Red Sox's decision to option him could imply that the right-hander isn't expected to miss the full 15 days. Boston reinstated right-hander Jordan Hicks (toe) from the 15-day IL in a corresponding move.
