Barlow earned the save during Wednesday's 2-1 win over the Phillies by allowing one unearned run during the 10th inning. He struck out two and didn't record a walk.

The two teams were held scoreless through nine innings, but the Rangers claimed a two-run lead in the top of the 10th thanks a two-run single by Brad Miller. Barlow didn't allow a ball out of the infield during the bottom half of the inning, but Jean Segura -- who started the inning on second -- came around to score on a Odubel Herrera groundout after advancing to third when Didi Gregorius struck out to start the inning. Barlow has recorded saves in three straight appearances and currently sports a 2.16 ERA with a 12:1 K:BB.

Barnes (0-2) was tagged with the loss Wednesday, allowing four runs (three earned) on two hits and one walk over two-thirds of an inning in a 10-5 defeat to the Angels in 10 innings.

Barnes entered to start the 10th inning and retired the first two batters before Taylor Ward took him deep. A Mike Trout single and Shohei Ohtani walk ensued and Barnes was removed, but those runs came across to score with Hirokazu Sawamura on the mound. In all, Boston relievers allowed seven runs (two home runs) over the final two innings and blew their league-leading fifth save. Barnes' ERA climbed to 8.64 this season, and he has a 6.92 ERA since he signed an extension with the club in 2021.

Hendriks earned the save against the Cubs on Wednesday by pitching a perfect ninth inning during which he struck out one batter.

The right-hander pitched (and notched a save) each of the previous two days, but he threw only 22 combined pitches in those outings and was therefore able to appear in a third consecutive contest Wednesday. He needed only 10 pitches this time around to earn another save, giving him seven on the season. The White Sox have an off day Thursday, so there will be no intrigue about whether Hendriks could be deployed for a fourth straight game.

Logue would be a leading candidate to make a spot start against the Twins on Friday if Cole Irvin (shoulder) is unable to take his scheduled turn in the rotation, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

The southpaw made his big-league debut back on April 19 against the Orioles, firing 1.1 scoreless innings during which he allowed a hit and walk while recording a strikeout. Logue was sent back down to Triple-A Las Vegas after that appearance and has put up some shaky numbers with the Aviators, pitching to a 5.63 ERA and 1.81 WHIP across 16 innings over four starts. Nevertheless, Gallegos notes Logue is with the Athletics in Oakland at the moment despite no official promotion yet having taken place, making him the likeliest fill-in Friday if Irvin can't go.

Diekman suffered a blown save after he pitched one-third of an inning Wednesday, allowing an inherited run to score while giving up one hit and a walk in the loss to the Angels.

The 35-year-old was called upon to protect a one-run lead with two on and two out in the top of the ninth inning, ultimately giving up an RBI single to Jared Walsh and walking Kurt Suzuki before getting Max Stassi to fly out to end the frame. The run was charged to Hansel Robles, yet Diekman has now blown two consecutive save opportunities. The left-hander has eight holds on the season, operating mostly as the set-up man for Hansel Robles while posting a 4.15 ERA and 1.73 WHIP over 8.2 innings.

Brash (1-3) allowed four earned runs on six hits and four walks while striking out three across three innings to take the loss Wednesday against the Astros.

Brash ran into the majority of his trouble in the second inning when he allowed three of the first four batters he faced to reach base, all of which ultimately came around to score. Poor control continued to be a significant source of Brash's problems, as he has walked at least four batters in three of his five outings this season. That has resulted in both short and ugly outings, as he has also failed to work at least five innings in each of his last three appearances, allowing 13 earned runs across 9.1 frames. Overall, Brash has a 7.65 ERA with a 19:17 K:BB across 20 innings to begin the campaign.

Jimenez allowed three runs on two hits in an inning of work during the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Pirates. He walked one and did not have any strikeouts.

Jimenez entered the game with a sparkling 2.16 ERA this season, having allowed just two earned runs across his first nine appearances. However, we've seen the righty have implosions in the past, and Wednesday's poor outing raised his ERA to 4.82. That's more in line with the 5.96 ERA he posted last year, or the uglier 7.15 figure he registered in 2020. It's hard for the Tigers or fantasy managers to have much confidence in Jimenez moving forward.

Romano pitched a scoreless ninth inning on his way to a save in Wednesday's 2-1 win over the Yankees. He allowed two hits and walked one while also registering a strikeout.

Romano had to work his way out of danger in this one, loading the bases in the ninth inning before getting Isiah Kiner-Falefa to ground out to end the contest. The 29-year-old has a league-high 12 saves on the season and now has a 1.35 ERA and 1.05 WHIP with 15 punchouts over 13.1 innings. With only one blown save in 13 attempts, he appears to be one of the best closer options for 2022 moving forward.

Soto pitched a scoreless ninth inning with two strikeouts to earn the save in the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Pirates.

Soto now has four saves in five chances this season, and outside of allowing an earned run back on April 8, the lefty has only allowed two unearned runs across his seven other appearances. That's left him with a stellar 1.13 ERA, and he stands a good chance of surpassing the career-best 18 saves he recorded last year if he keeps pitching like this.

Kittredge did not allow a baserunner in a scoreless ninth inning to earn the save Wednesday against the Athletics.

Kittredge entered the game with a 3-0 lead and set down the Athletics in order on only 10 pitches. He now has four of the Rays' seven saves this season, most recently splitting chances with Ryan Thompson. However, Kittredge is one of the team's most trusted relievers, so his appearances in non-save situations have resulted in two wins. Kittredge has pitched well to begin the campaign, maintaining a 1.46 ERA with a 12:1 K:BB across 12.1 frames.
