Lopez (2-1) allowed three runs on six hits over four innings Sunday, striking out four and taking a loss against the Rays.

All three runs against Lopez came in the first three innings, including a two-run third by Tampa Bay. It was his first outing this season in which he allowed more than one run in an outing, and he was tagged with his first loss as a result. The 6-foot-1 righty still owns a 1.86 ERA and a 30:7 K:BB through 29 innings. With Carlos Rodon (shoulder) expected back soon, Lopez could be headed back to the bullpen.

Soto (6-3) allowed an unearned run on two hits and two walks with one strikeout over two innings, earning the extra-innings win over Toronto on Sunday.

While the 26-year-old wasn't his sharpest, he didn't unravel in either of his innings. Soto allowed Toronto to tie the game again in the 10th, but Detroit took the lead for good in the 11th to make him the pitcher of record. The southpaw owns a 3.40 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 65:34 K:BB across 53 innings while adding 15 saves in 16 chances and seven holds across 53 appearances.

Fleming allowed three hits over three scoreless innings and earned a save over the White Sox on Sunday.

Fleming came into a 6-0 game in the seventh inning and cruised through three shutout frames to earn his first save of the year. The 25-year-old lefty could continue bouncing between the Rays' bullpen and starting rotation as needed. Sunday was his second straight appearance out of the bullpen after starting in his previous five outings.

Jimenez pitched a perfect inning and struck out two to earn the save in Sunday's 5-3 extra-innings win over Toronto.

After regular closer Gregory Soto kept the game tied in the ninth inning and failed to secure the win in the 10th, Detroit rallied ahead in the 11th. Enter Jimenez, who threw eight of his 10 pitches for strikes to lock down his first save in 2021. The right-hander logged 17 saves over the three previous seasons, but he's seen more of a middle-innings role this year while struggling to a 6.31 ERA and 1.60 WHIP across 35.2 innings. As such, Jimenez shouldn't be expected to draw many more save chances outside of emergency situations like Sunday.

The Tigers recalled Lange from Triple-A Toledo ahead of Sunday's game against the Blue Jays.

Lange will be back with the Tigers for the first time in just over a month after he was summoned from Triple-A as a replacement on the pitching staff for Wily Peralta (finger), who was placed on the 10-day injured list. According to Evan Woodbery of MLive.com, Lange will likely be available out of the Tigers' bullpen just for Sunday; he's a prime candidate for a demotion ahead of Tuesday's two-game set in St. Louis, during which outfielder Akil Baddoo (concussion) will make his return from the IL.

Chafin recorded his 19th hold in a loss to the Giants on Saturday, allowing two earned runs on two solo home runs over one inning.

Chafin walked away with the hold, but he helped set the stage for an eventual Athletics loss by giving up the solo bombs to Brandon Belt and Darin Ruf in a seventh inning the Giants entered trailing by a 5-2 margin. The veteran left-hander's issues with the long ball are an outlier, considering he'd allowed just one home run over 49.2 innings coming into Saturday.

Andriese signed a one-year contract with the Mariners on Sunday and was added to the 40-man roster and 26-man active roster ahead of Seattle's series finale in Houston.

Seattle wasn't willing to take on the money remaining on Andriese's one-year, $1.85 million contract after Boston designated him for assignment a few days earlier, but the Mariners brought the veteran reliever aboard on what's presumably a more team-friendly deal once he cleared waivers and became a free agent. He'll be a multi-inning option out of the bullpen for Seattle, but expect manager Scott Servais to limit Andriese's usage to lower-leverage spots initially. Andriese submitted a 6.03 ERA and 1.77 WHIP across 26 relief appearances for Boston this season, but the Mariners are likely hoping that his solid 15.3 K-BB% is a better indicator of his performance moving forward.

Trivino (5-5) took the loss and a blown save Saturday versus San Francisco. He allowed two runs on a hit and a walk while striking out one in one inning.

Trivino yielded a two-run home run to LaMonte Wade in the ninth inning, and the A's weren't able to bounce back in their half of the frame. It's just the third blown save of the year for Trivino, who has locked down 21 saves with six holds in 56 appearances. He's allowed multiple runs in just four outings all year. He has a 1.99 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 49:28 K:BB through 58.2 innings overall.

Manaea allowed two runs on four hits, three walks and two hit batsmen while striking out three in 4.2 innings versus San Francisco on Saturday. He did not factor in the decision.

Manaea wasn't hit as hard as he's been in his last few starts, but the two hit batters made things more difficult for the southpaw. He's endured a horrid August, allowing 17 runs across 15.2 innings his last four starts. The skid has inflated his ERA to 3.77 with a 1.24 WHIP and 151:36 K:BB across 138.1 innings overall. He'll attempt to right the ship against a surging Yankees team during next weekend's four-game series.

Diekman secured holds in back-to-back games Friday and Saturday against the Giants, firing a total of 2.1 innings during which he allowed two hits and recorded two strikeouts.

Diekman turned in a scoreless 1.1-inning effort in Friday night's win for his 10th hold, with the veteran lefty entering the game immediately behind starter James Kaprielian. Despite throwing 20 pitches in that outing, manager Bob Melvin summoned Diekman again in Saturday's one-run loss, an appearance in which the southpaw was able to preserve a 5-4 lead despite having to work around two baserunners. Diekman is now up to 11 holds on the campaign as a result of his efforts the past two days, and he's posted a 1-1 record, 2.38 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 12.7 K/9 across 11.1 post-All-Star-break innings.
