Fulmer (5-4) earned the win in relief Saturday against Cleveland after tossing a scoreless inning, allowing one walk and fanning two.

Fulmer needed just 14 pitches (eight strikes) to get the job done Saturday and now has tossed eight straight scoreless outings, a span in which he's also posted a strong 11:2 K:BB through 8.2 innings. The veteran has made just four starts this season but has worked almost exclusively out of the bullpen with strong results. He owns a 3.33 ERA with 53 strikeouts across 48.2 innings.

Hentges didn't factor into the decision Saturday against the Tigers after allowing three runs on four hits while fanning three across two innings.

Hentges once again struggled to pitch deep into the game but that shouldn't be much of a surprise, as he has pitched at least five complete frames just twice across his 19 outings this season. He also ended a streak of three straight appearances allowing one or fewer runs. The southpaw now owns a 6.00 ERA with a 2.00 WHIP across four appearances this month.

Shaw (5-6) was tagged with the loss in relief Saturday against the Tigers after allowing two runs on three hits and a walk across one-third of an inning, fanning one.

Shaw pitched the eighth but wasn't effective, as he loaded the bases and gave up two runs before recording an out. This woeful performance ended a streak of seven straight scoreless outings for the right-hander.

Akin is scheduled to start Sunday's game against the Red Sox, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Akin initially worked out of the bullpen when he was reinstated from the COVID-19 injured list Aug. 1, but he was moved into the rotation last week when Alexander Wells was demoted to Triple-A Norfolk. While picking up his ninth start of the season Tuesday versus the Tigers, Akin lasted only three innings while giving up six runs, inflating his season ERA to 8.23. Barring a dramatic turnaround Sunday versus a tough Boston offense, Akin likely won't be long for the Baltimore rotation, especially with Bruce Zimmermann (biceps/ankle) expected to return from the injured list in the near future.

Lopez is scheduled to start Tuesday's game against the Athletics at Guaranteed Rate Field, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.

As expected, Lopez will make a second turn through the rotation as a replacement for Carlos Rodon (shoulder), who is expected to spend more than the minimum 10 days on the injured list after being deactivated last week. Though Chicago could have turned to All-Star Lance Lynn to start Tuesday after his last outing came in Thursday's win over the Yankees in the "Field of Dreams" game, he'll instead get an extra day of rest, clearing the way for Lopez to take the hill for the second game of the series with Oakland. Lopez -- who struck out four over three scoreless frames in last week's start against the Twins -- could push his pitch count up to the 60-to-75 range versus Oakland. He'll tentatively line up for his second start of the week Aug. 22 in Tampa Bay.

Barria (2-1) took the loss against Houston on Saturday, pitching three innings and allowing three runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out one.

The right-hander yielded three extra-base hits in his three frames and needed 52 pitches to retire nine batters. He entered the contest having tossed three straight quality starts but submitted his shortest start of the campaign Saturday. Barria has been solid overall since joining the rotation July 31, so the poor outing against one of the league's top offenses shouldn't affect his standing in the Angels' rotation. He's tentatively scheduled to make his next start at Cleveland on Friday.

Hendriks (7-3) was tagged with the loss Saturday against the Yankees, allowing three runs (two earned) on two hits in one-third of an inning.

Hendriks entered a 4-4 game in the 10th inning and immediately gave up an RBI single to Aaron Judge and a two-run home run to Joey Gallo. The latter was the 11th homer allowed by Hendriks this season and the third in his last two outings. The veteran reliever has been torched for seven runs (six earned) in his two appearances in the series with the Yankees, upping his season ERA from 2.40 to 3.42.

Abreu recorded the final two outs of Saturday's 7-5 win over the White Sox to earn his first save in the majors.

Abreu inherited a bases-loaded jam with one out in the 10th inning, but Seby Zavala lined out and Tim Anderson grounded into a forceout to secure the milestone save for the 25-year-old Abreu. It should be noted that Chad Green blew a save chance in the ninth and Zack Britton got the first crack in the 10th, so this was likely a one-off for Abreu with closer Aroldis Chapman (elbow) possibly returning from the IL next week. Abreu has appeared in 14 games this season, posting a 4.43 ERA and 1.16 WHIP with a 23:11 K:BB in 22.1 innings.

Green (7-5) blew the save but earned the win Saturday against the White Sox, allowing one run on two hits with a pair of strikeouts in 1.1 innings.

Green came into the game with two out in the eighth inning and the Yankees leading 4-3. He stranded an Andrew Vaughn single to end the frame but yielded a game-tying homer to Jose Abreu in the ninth. It was the fourth blown save in seven chances this season for Green, who picked up the win after the Yankees responded with a trio of runs in the bottom of the ninth. The 30-year-old Green owns a 3.13 ERA and a 68:12 K:BB in 60.1 innings this season.

Valdez has given up six runs in his last six innings.

In that span, the reliever has given up 10 hits, four of which have been home runs. The good news is Valdez hasn't walked a batter in that span after issuing four free passes in an 8.2-inning scoreless streak immediately following the All-Star break. The 36-year-old has a 5.82 ERA, 1.62 WHIP and 42:12 K:BB in 43.1 innings, and he's mainly seen low-leverage work in his recent appearances.
