  • Twins' Kody Funderburk: Returns to majors

The Twins recalled Funderburk from Triple-A St. Paul on Friday, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

He takes the bullpen spot of fellow left-hander Anthony Misiewicz, who was placed on the 15-day IL with a left shoulder impingement. Funderburk has appeared in 10 games out of the bullpen for Minnesota this season, registering a 6.92 ERA, 1.85 WHIP and 9:5 K:BB across 13 innings of action.

  • Twins' Anthony Misiewicz: Placed on 15-day IL

The Twins placed Misiewicz on the 15-day injured list Friday with a left shoulder impingement, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

Misiewicz was removed from Tuesday's 10-7 win over the Dodgers with the injury after throwing just six pitches. The left-handed reliever has appeared in four games with the Twins this season and owns a 10.38 ERA, 1.62 WHIP and 5:3 K:BB across 4.1 innings of work.

  • Nick Hernandez RP | ATH

Astros' Nick Hernandez: Brought up by Astros

Houston recalled Hernandez from Triple-A Sugar Land on Friday.

Hernandez will take Brandon Walter's (elbow) spot on the active roster as Walter heads to the injured list. Hernandez has a 1.70 ERA in 37 innings of relief with Sugar Land this season, and he's yielded two runs in two innings with the Astros.

  • Royals' Jonathan Bowlan: Back to Triple-A

The Royals optioned Bowlan to Triple-A Omaha on Friday.

With Hunter Harvey (shoulder) back from the 60-day IL, Bowlan will be dispatched back to the minors. Bowlan has appeared in 16 games out of the bullpen for the Royals this season, registering a 4.64 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 19:9 K:BB across 21.1 innings of action.

  • Hunter Harvey RP | CHC

Royals' Hunter Harvey: Returns from IL

The Royals activated Harvey (shoulder) from the 60-day injured list Friday.

Harvey hasn't pitched in the big leagues since April 7 due to a shoulder strain, but he appeared in three rehab games and is ready to return to the Royals' bullpen. Harvey was off to a hot start this season, registering a 0.00 ERA, 0.19 WHIP and 7:0 K:BB across 5.1 innings prior to his injury. Harvey should slot back in as a top setup man for Kansas City.

  • Nick Robertson RP | LAD

Astros' Nick Robertson: DFA'd by Houston

Robertson was designated for assignment by the Astros on Friday, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Robertson was acquired from Toronto back in April and has spent the entirety of the 2025 campaign at Triple-A Sugar Land, where he owns a 4.68 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 36:25 K:BB across 32.2 innings of relief.

  • Orioles' Cameron Foster: Dealt to O's

Foster and Wellington Aracena were acquired by the Orioles from the Mets on Friday in exchange for reliever Gregory Soto, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.

A 14th-round pick by the Mets in 2022, Foster is now on the move ahead of the trade deadline. The 26-year-old has spent most of this season at the Double-A level, where he has a 1.01 ERA, 0.83 WHIP and 34:5 K:BB across 26.2 innings.

  • Mason Miller RP | SD

Athletics' Mason Miller: Earns 20th save

Miller struck out one and walked one in 1.1 scoreless innings to secure the save in Thursday's 4-2 win against the Astros.

The right-hander was called upon with two outs and two on in the eighth inning, but he induced a flyout from Jose Altuve and returned for the ninth to put away Houston. Miller has converted his past six save chances and hasn't given up a run in his last 10 appearances. It's been a bit of an up-and-down campaign for the A's closer, but he still has a 3.86 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 58:18 K:BB over 37.1 innings while going 20-for-23 in save opportunities.

  • Andres Munoz RP | SEA

Mariners' Andres Munoz: Picks up 23rd save

Munoz allowed a hit and a walk in a scoreless ninth inning to earn his 23rd save of the season in Thursday's 4-2 win against the Angels. He struck out one.

In addition to a walk and a single, a dropped third strike on what should have been a punchout helped Anaheim load the bases on Munoz, though he was able to escape the jam unscathed. The right-hander has been unscored upon in his past four appearances, but it's worth noting that he's walked four batters during that stretch. Despite blowing six saves this year, Munoz has been one of the most dominant closers in MLB with a 1.38 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 51:18 K:BB over 39 innings.

  • Alex Lange RP | KC

Tigers' Alex Lange: Resumes rehab stint

Lange (lat) made rehab appearances for Triple-A Toledo on Sunday and Wednesday, allowing a run on two hits and three walks with two strikeouts across 1.2 innings of work.

The next step in Lange's recovery from June 2024 surgery to address a right lat avulsion is to pitch in consecutive games, something he hasn't done yet in 2025. The righty is at least trending in the right direction, but given his long layoff as well as strong seasons from Detroit relievers Will Vest, Tyler Holton and Brant Hurter, Lange may have a hard time making much of an impact at the MLB level this year.
