Yang allowed two runs on five hits and struck out one over 4.1 innings in Monday's 9-4 loss to the Angels.

Yang's contract was purchased by the Rangers on Monday, and he was put to work immediately when starter Jordan Lyles was bounced after just 2.2 innings. The timing of the transaction was fortuitous; the 33-year-old lefty was added because the bullpen had pitched a lot of innings over the weekend, and the Rangers just began a stretch of 19 consecutive days with a game. A starter in Korea, where he played for 14 seasons, Yang is expected to serve in a low-leverage role.

Clase (2-1) pitched a perfect 10th inning with one strikeout to earn the extra-inning win over the Twins on Monday.

Clase was efficient, needing 11 pitches to retire the side. In the bottom of the 10th, Jordan Luplow's walkoff two-run home run secured the win and made Clase the pitcher of record. The hard-throwing right-hander has allowed three unearned runs in 10.1 innings this season. He has a 0.97 WHIP and 12:3 K:BB with four saves and a blown save across 11 outings.

Trivino gave up a hit and a walk while striking out one in a scoreless ninth inning Monday to record his third save of the season in a 2-1 win over the Rays.

After Jake Diekman got the last two saves for the A's, the southpaw worked the eighth inning Monday with Tampa Bay's 9-1-2 hitters due up, leaving closing duties to Trivino. Manager Bob Melvin seems comfortable using both relievers with the game on the line, so it's unlikely either one will run away with the closer role, but Trivino has certainly pitched well enough to secure his high-leverage spot. On the season, he's 3-for-3 on save chances with a 1.29 ERA and 16:6 K:BB through 14 innings.

Pressly earned a save Monday after holding the Mariners scoreless with one hit and a strikeout.

Tasked with protecting a three-run lead in the ninth inning, Pressly gave up a leadoff single to Taylor Trammell, who was thrown out after Sam Haggerty reached first on a fielder's choice. Pressly then sent Jose Marmolejos down on strikes before forcing J.P. Crawford to ground out as he finished off his second save of the season. Across 10 innings, Pressly sports a 0.90 ERA and 1.30 WHIP.

Lakins pitched a scoreless seventh inning with one walk and no strikeouts to earn a hold in Monday's 4-2 win over the Yankees.

Lakins continued his strong start to the year with a nearly clean inning Monday. He's allowed just one unearned run in seven appearances this season. The right-hander has a 0.84 WHIP, 5:4 K:BB and 1-1 record through seven innings. Monday was his first hold of the year, which could mean he's in line for more high-leverage work.

Manaea (3-1) picked up the win Monday, allowing one run on four hits and two walks over five innings in a 2-1 victory over the Rays. He struck out six.

The lefty won his third straight decision but wasn't efficient enough to rack up his fourth straight quality start, exiting the game after 100 pitches (61 strikes). Manaea will take a 2.83 ERA and 28:7 K:BB through 28.2 innings into his next outing Saturday at home against the Orioles.

Scott pitched two-thirds of an inning, allowing one run on three walks with one strikeout to earn a hold in Monday's 4-2 win over the Yankees.

Scott was a bit sloppy in this outing, but Cesar Valdez relieved him and the latter was able to escape a bases-loaded jam to end the eighth inning. The 26-year-old Scott has a 3.12 ERA, 1.73 WHIP and five holds in 8.2 innings. He's also taken two losses and carries an 11:10 K:BB, so there could be some regression looming in the near future.

Valdez gave up one hit and struck out one over 1.1 scoreless innings to record his fifth save of the season in Monday's 4-2 win over the Yankees.

The 36-year-old changeup specialist continues to thrive as the O's closer. Valdez is 5-for-6 in save chances with a 0.84 ERA and 11:1 K:BB through 10.1 innings, and as long as he remains effective, manager Brandon Hyde has little reason to look to anyone else in the ninth inning.

Garcia was optioned to the Yankees' alternate training site after Monday's start against the Orioles, Lindsey Adler of The Athletic reports. He took the loss after allowing two runs on three hits and three walks while striking out four over four innings.

Baltimore got to Garcia early, as he surrendered a solo home run in the first inning and an RBI double in the second. He struggled to find his command, issuing three free passes and throwing 40 of 65 pitches for strikes. New York should transition back to a traditional five-man rotation following Garcia's demotion.

Staumont picked up the save after walking one and striking out one in a scoreless inning Monday against the Tigers.

Staumont retired the first two batters without issue before walking Miguel Cabrera, but he managed to seal the deal by inducing a flyball for the final out of the contest. Kansas City currently has a number of options out of the bullpen to deploy in the closer's role, though Staumont appears to be gaining some favor with his skipper after having his number called in two straight save chances.
