Pressly allowed two hits in one scoreless inning to earn the save in Monday's 6-4 win over the Giants.

Reliever Josh James struggled in the ninth inning, creating a save situation. Pressly allowed two inherited runners to score, but was able to preserve the lead in the end. The 31-year-old Pressly is now 1-for-2 in save chances since taking over for the injured Roberto Osuna (elbow), and he figures to get most of the ninth-inning duties going forward.

The Rays will start Kittredge against the Red Sox on Tuesday, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.

Kittredge earned the save in Monday's game in Boston, the first of his career, shutting the door on 16 pitches. Manager Kevin Cash will give the ball right back to him for an inning or two Tuesday before turning things over to the bullpen. Jalen Beeks figures to be available for 30-50 pitches behind Kittredge.

Yarbrough didn't factor into the decision in Monday's 8-7 win over the Red Sox, giving up four runs on five hits and two walks over 4.1 innings. He struck out one.

The southpaw didn't have his best stuff, getting tagged for three runs in the first inning, but Yarbrough was able to settle down and limit the damage the rest of the way. He threw 49 of 77 pitches for strikes as he failed to complete at least five innings for the first time in four starts. Yarbrough will look to give the Rays a little more length in his next outing, currently scheduled for this weekend in Buffalo against the Blue Jays.

Rogers allowed one hit in a scoreless ninth inning Monday, striking out two batters and picking up the save over the Brewers.

Rogers allowed a two-out double to Manny Pina but fanned Mark Mathias to finish off the game. It was encouraging to see the 29-year-old lefty turn in a solid performance after blowing his last save opportunity. He's sporting a 3.38 ERA with a 7:0 K:BB across 5.1 innings this season.

Norris (1-1) pitched two scoreless innings to earn the win Monday against the White Sox. He allowed one hit and struck out two.

After Michael Fulmer opened the game with three scoreless innings, Norris followed as the primary pitcher and continued to keep Chicago off the board. The lefty was recently bumped from the rotation in favor of Tyler Alexander, and he figures to remain in a tandem with Fulmer for the time being. However, Norris could pitch his way back into the rotation if he performs well in his new role.

Fulmer opened Monday's win over the White Sox by tossing three scoreless innings. He allowed three hits and a walk, while striking out two.

This was a step forward for Fulmer, who allowed four runs on five hits and a walk across 2.2 innings on July 27, his only other appearance so far this season. In that first outing, Fulmer was tagged for three home runs, and he did a much better job of keeping the ball in play and limiting damage Monday. The righty is still being treated cautiously in his return from Tommy John surgery, as he left Monday's game after logging just 57 pitches. He figures to work as an opener again Sunday against Cleveland.

Rodriguez was designated for assignment by the Angels on Monday.

The right-hander turned in 1.2 scoreless frames for the Angels back on Aug. 2, but he was subsequently optioned and has now lost his spot on the 40-man roster. Rodriguez is still only 24 years old, though he does not throw hard and clearly the team did not see him as close to developing into a viable bullpen piece.

Edwards (forearm) is only expected to miss a couple of weeks, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.

After Edwards was placed on the 10-day injured list Monday, manager Scott Servais said that he has a strain in his flexor mass in his elbow that isn't considered serious. The right-hander is only expected to miss a couple of weeks, but that absence will be more significant during the 60-game season in 2020. However, the team expects him to return before the end of the season.

Lopez was placed on the 10-day injured list Monday for an undisclosed reason, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports.

The Orioles claimed Lopez off waivers from the Royals on Sunday, and it's unclear why he was placed on the 10-day injured list. He could simply need time to clear intake testing amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Lopez gave up two runs on three hits and no walks while recording just two outs in his only relief appearance this season.

Richards is a candidate for spot starts while Yonny Chirinos (triceps) and Charlie Morton (shoulder) are on the injured list, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.

Richards already stepped in for Morton on Sunday after the latter was forced from the game with the shoulder issue that would ultimately land him on the injured list. The 27-year-old right-hander logged 23 starts last season with the Marlins and Rays, which was preceded by a 25-start rookie 2018 campaign in Miami. Therefore, there's no doubt Richards' arm could be built up to handle a five- or six-inning workload, but with manager Kevin Cash also having versatile multi-inning options such as Jalen Beeks and Anthony Banda (taxi squad) on hand, he could simply opt to deploy any two out of that trio to handle the bulk of innings in a given game.
